Someone posted about their vape mail, and I thought this was funny....

The other day, I ordered from fasttech. Yes, I knew it would take a while, and since there were batteries involved, I had to send it through Malaysian post. took a few months, but one day, I noticed it was out for delivery.... I knew... Mail comes at 2pm. I happened to be online and heard the mail truck. We have a split level, and I have a clear view from the second story to the mailbox. Sure enough, mail lady came, had the package on her lap (I was peering out the window), put some envelopes in the box, then put my vape mail in the bin in her truck, then drove off..... I was like WTH?!?!?!

I went to the mailbox, and saw a slip "customer was not at home, requested signature".. she never even got out of the truck, and the customer WAS at home eyeing her intently. :) I knew she went down the other culdisack (sp?) so, I walked down to one of her future deliveries and waited at their mailbox, and sure enough, she came along. I've known this mail lady, and she knows me by sight. she apologized about it needing a delivery, and stated "all you had to do was sign it and put it in the mailbox, I would have delivered it the day after I got the signature". Lucky, I was able to sign it right then and there and get it right then and there. :)

several questions come to mind...
1) am I so obsessed about vaping that I chase down the mail lady to get my vape mail?
2) Does anyone else know about the signature policy?
3) are they supposed to come to the door?
4) am I the only one that's done this?

saw that online, I laughed, how close to the truth is it?

That's how they are supposed to do it. I just remembered this story.... A year or so ago I realized we had not rec'd any mail for over a week. I called the PO and was told "we had moved". That was news to me....lol. Our car is parked in front of the house, lawn mowed, etc. I finally talked to the postmaster and came to find that our route is sort of a fragment and it gets tossed to whoever comes in first from their regular route. So they try to get it done quick as they can. One lazy carrier decided our house looked "empty" and put us down as "moved with no forwarding".... how nice....

The day my Provari was coming I got up early just in case the mail came early. And I waited and watched for our mailman because I knew I had to sign for it. I watched him put the mail in the box and walk away. I was so disappointed and thought it must have missed the truck in the morning. Checked tracking and it said out for delivery. So I called the post office. While I waited, they contacted the postman and he said he'd knocked and my dogs barked but I didn't answer the door. Well, no knocking or barking occurred and I told the post office employee that but said I would pick it up in the morning. Late in the afternoon, the mailman appears with my Provari, sorry for the misunderstanding. I just hugged him and thanked him for returning, happy to have my Provari in hand.

That's the advantage of living in the UK we don't have mailboxes just a simple letter box on the door

I regularly grab the sack from the postie, empty it and have a good rummage through the contents when I'm expecting vapemail, not been arrested yet ;)

Seriously though, there's nothing worse than waiting for your new toys and being let down.

I was waiting on my Provari one day. I live in an apartment complex and peeked out the door and saw him down at the set of mailboxes before. I thought sweet my Provari is minutes from arriving. I watched him stop at my set of mailboxes and then drive to the next. I walked to the mailbox and no Provari. I was a little disappointed. I went and looked online to double check that it was in fact was supposed to be delivered that way. It sure was. I walked back outside and he was still at the next set of mailboxes.

I went over to him and let him know I was expecting a delivery. He digs it out and tells me it requires a signature. What?! I got. I slip in the mailbox. No knock at the door. This guy wasn't even going to attempt to deliver my package. That really annoyed me, but I had Provari in hand so I couldn't be too upset.

Well, her reasoning was that the computer wouldn't accept a delivery without a signature. she had a handheld device that would scan the signature and put it in the database. once I signed it, she was like "that's all they're wanting". I can understand registered mail needing a signature, but leaving a "while you were out" note when I wasn't out is not right. I don't think I'll report her yet. She knows I am home now, and hopefully next time if this happens, she will walk up and knock.

another unrelated but equally horrific story was when my mother in law ordered a bookshelf and had it delivered via UPS. it was fairly bulky, so he didn't take it up to the entry way, but left it at the bottom of the steps. I had my car parked on the left side of the garage, the one closest to the steps. I went to pickup my son, opened the garage, put it in reverse, and heard something slide.... luckily I didn't totally run over it, but needless to say, I was .......
