Hello everybody,

I'm rather new in vape mods. I read a bunch of reviews and articles but the most of them give information for experienced users. At the moment i feel more confused.

I would like to give me some suggestions for a vape mod. Personal preferences are more than welcome. At the moment I smoke around 2 winston red (10, 0.8, 10) cigarette packs per day and my budget constrain is at 150euros.

I like gudget-like mods like evic supreme but I have no idea if it is enough for a heavy snoker like me.

Also a friend told me that as ohms decrease the mod goes more "offensive" or something like that. What does he mean? Could you share your experience?

I really like my Kangertech Subox Mini for value and performance. Not sure what it is overseas but it's around 60-80 USD with battery. It is a sub-ohm kit, meaning you can vape at 0.5 ohms, which is pretty low, and "offensive" as your friend said. What he meant is, with sub-ohm vaping, there's a lot more vapor, flavor, and nicotine in your vape. Most people drop their nic levels considerably when they move to subohming.

2 pack a day smoker? You'll probably settle in the 3-6 range eventually. I'd try some 12mg I guess, just to see how much nic you need.

Do you want a mechanical mod or a regulated electronic one? I would say go electronic if you are new to this. Mechanical mods have more of a learning curve to operate them safely.

For electronic mods, I'll echo @Bacong 's suggestion of the Kanger Subox Mini kit. That should be close to your price range and is about as "all in one" as it gets for someone just jumping at their first mod. It already has the tank along with the mod as well as 2 OCC heads and the RBA rebuildable deck. You probably won't mess with the RBA deck much at first. One of the two heads is 1.5 ohms and the other is a 0.5 ohm. You can also get replacement heads in whichever one you like best. All you need are the 18650 batteries and your juice. (I'd say start at 6-8 mg and work your way down from there.)

Personally, I use the IPV D2 mod, which is similar to the Kanger and not very expensive. (It also goes up to 75W compared to the Kanger's 50w) It can be used as either a variable wattage device or temperature controlled. I paired it up with the Kanger Subtank Mini with a 0.5 coil and run it in variable wattage mode around 35W. I use about a 12mg juice which is down from 36mg when I started vaping 2 years ago. A big part of that drop is because of the increased vapor production you get from electronic mods compared to the tiny little eGos I was using back then.

Does a new person to vaping really have to jump into sub-ohm and mega watt vaping? Really? Funny...I started vaping in 2011 (4 years ago) and never felt the need to go sub-ohm. I still don't. I currently vape 1.5 GS air coils on either an iStick (I have 20W, 30W and 40W but never go over 7W) or a MVP 20W (ditto for it).

One of the big reasons I like the iSticks and the MVP20w is because both are pass throughs...so one can continue vaping even while charging. I also like the size. Both have built in batteries with good battery life. I have others with replaceable batteries, but wouldn't do PT with them). I like my ohms between 1.5 and 2.1. As mentioned I don't do high wattage because I don't like hot vapes...and I see no need to. Even so, with those devices you have lots of wiggle room to experiment with the wattage levels to see what is best for you. With the iStick 40W you even have the option for "temperature control" or TC...if you want. Wouldn't really go there until you get the hang of how vaping equipment works, and what you find good for YOU.

My current favorte tanks are the GS Airs and the GS Air M. I use the corresponding GS air coils with them.

You don't have to start with the sub-ohm stuff. I get PLENTY of "clouds" (big time) and plenty of flavor. And my juice is an 85PG/15VG mix! Gasp! For years I was perfectly happy with eGos and carto tanks. No need to hurry things....learn the ropes. Read ECF (but don't let yourself get bullied into sub-ohm until you are ready). Looks at stuff on vaping on YouTube and such. Don't count on a vendor to steer you right. They want to sell you something...preferably for a chunk of money. Good luck!!!

Since when is 1.5 sub-ohm???
I used 1.5 cartos for a couple of years before moving to VV sticks and then eventually jumping to electronic mods.
The choice between the 1.5 or 0.5 coil is part of the reason I suggested the Kanger Subox Mini. You have options. You don't HAVE to sub-ohm on it.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Karbounos. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

Amen brother.....when the Alcohol Monster is calling the shots....he wants 100% nic right out of the container. My monster is toothless now, but he still gums the hell out of me everyday. And of course he's always in my ear with, "Dickie! We re all better now. How ' we have a big assed scotch and we'll grab a couple of cigars...."

Thank you all for your answers. I really appreciate it.

I just found the following:
Beware the dwarf (bod) II evic supreme telescopic tube

It looks very sexy and cheap. Of course, evic control head is not included but I find that gadget-like screen very cool. I saw the video Susan sent and they were very helpful (thanks :D), but I cannot understand the following.
As far as I can understand the way they work, bod mod can run even without the screen as a mech mod. Am I right?
I found a couple of threads about bod I in the forum, but I cannot find any review. Is it reliable?

@Bacong Kanger Subox Mini kit seems exactly what I need. Just a question. Evic uses a disposable battery. Doesn't that mean that it is more versatile or am I missing something?
@WillieB69 I didn't have enough time to check it out, because I'm trying to find local shops with these products in order to have live help if I need it.

I was referring to the post by Bacong talking about "offensive" or sub ohms.

By disposable I meant external battery. Btw I'm from Greece, excuse my english :)

What about the bod? Any idea?
Ah, I see.
I prefer those because you can change the batteries if one dies. You're not waiting for your mod to charge to vape and when a battery gets old and stops holding a charge, you throw it out and buy a new one rather than having to throw out a whole mod that has a fixed battery.
