I believe that cutting your finger on a chili lid is a common symptom of quitting analogs. I'm sure someone told me their cousin's neighbor read that somewhere.

You jest, but it seems like every one of my failed quit-attempts has been attended by some mild to major injury. One time, I was cutting my grass on DAY ONE, and ran into a tree branch with my eyeball! Apparently, I cut the little case that holds it in so my eyeball distended to about the size of a golfball. I got express-lane treatment at the ER. The poked it back in, glued it shut and gave me powerful seditives. On my way out, I bummed a smoke from an orderly.

I'm pleased to report that, during the entire past thirteen days spent chain-vapeing, I have not found it necessary to lacerate myself in any way.

PS: the pics of the eye injury are on file with Poison Control as a sort of visual emetic.
