My wife and I were just talking about this 2 seconds ago. She cant set her pv down for 2 minutes. She just got hers 8 days ago and has only smoked 1 1/2 analogs since then but has her vape permanently attached to her mouth. I got my pv 1 month ago this friday and havent had an analog since(I smoked a pack a day for 21 years and she smoked a pack a day for about 8 years). I just got done telling her to use only the 24mg juice we have and not bother with the 16mg. I also told her I will buy some 48mg un-flavored next week and start mixing our own. For me I dont vape very much all day while at work now for the simple fact that I dont feal the crave I had a month ago with analogs, after I get home I vape like mad while sitting here readin ECF and sucking down a few beers. Beer+vape=all night fun without the crappy sick feeling I used to get from analogs in the morning. I used to think that feeling was a hangover but ever since I started vaping I dont feel like crap in the morning. Sorry it took so long to get to the point but the bottom line I think is to increase your nic content to get the satisfaction you need to set it down, or use low nic and vape like mad, so far I feel better than I have in 21 years. Just my half a buck.

I've been vaping since I got all of my stuff this past Saturday; and I know what you mean...I haven't been able to put my stuff down. But I haven't had any analogs and I feel so much better already. I've been trying to put myself on a schedule now though like I used to be on analogs. I'll vape in the morning when I wake up, shower, get ready for work...go to work, and then vape a few hours into working. Then not again until I get done around 4 or 5...at that point it's everyone for themselves ;) So we'll see where I'm at a month from now. I have a pretty good supply of carts, liquid, fluval, batteries and attys. I think I'm good even if I do continue to chain vape ;)

i'm pretty sure i vape more than i smoked, mainly because it just tastes so much better, and it doesn't make me feel bad at all, plus it doesn't bother anyone around

Ditto all of that.

When I'm at work, I stick to my previous smoking schedule. But when I'm home -- evenings and weekends -- I pretty much don't put my 510 down.

just curious what's bad aboutthis habit?

Have you checked your wallet lately??

Vaping a lot is normal, particularly when you first start. You can use the device in many places that smoking was not allowed. That alone accounts for a lot of vaping time.

I wonder if Im just trading one bad habit for another?

You most certainly are trading one habit for another, but vaping appears to offer pretty significant harm reduction by not smoking. When vaping also becomes a hobby, sorry for your wallet.

I used to smoke all the time, 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day. The car and the computer were the worst places for me! I even woke up in the night and had to have a smoke.
When I first started vaping I did the same as always. Now three months into it, I vape in the car and on the computer but don't seem to need it anywhere else. I never wake up at night anymore, I do vape a lot of low nic or 0 nic while i am at the computer. I save the 11mg for special..lol!

There are only so many hours in the day...When I smoked I smoked during every one I could. Constantly. 2-3 packs a day RYO. When I first got my ecig, I wouldn't let it out of my hand, except for dishwashing, or a shower, etc. About the same as smoking. But I think now that I've been doing this for awhile, less the cigarettes (none) I think I have enough confidence or satisfaction or whatever it is, I can lay it down and go do whatever job I have to do and be perfectly content while I'm away from it. Haven't mis-placed it yet, don't get me wrong. So I know I still rely on it heavily. We know from the little research that has been done that our nicotine absorbtion with a PV is only about 1/10th that of cigarette smoking. That pretty much explains the reasons why many of us are vaping "constantly". It takes a long time to adjust our nicotine nerves, so to speak. I think I'm there now. Still not brave enough to try leaving it alone. (I vaped at the Piggly Wiggly this afternoon, discreetly, of course.) But as for this being a "bad" habit? As Happily stated, No tar, no toxic gases, no carcinogens, chemicals you can not spell or pronounce? Not a bad thing, I think not. It feels clean, better for me.

i find it hard to vape like i would normally smoke a cigarette. like take 15 puffs and the cigarette is out, since the ecig lasts longer i feel like i have to keep vaping until a battery dies or the atty needs topping off. i cant seem to get the timing right to where i feel like ive vaped just enough, cuz i either want more or feel like i vaped too much.

I smoked over 2 packs a day. Smoked for 35 years. It interfered with work, productivity, social interaction. Smoking Ruled.
I'm vaping all the time now. (My GF found my 401 in the shower) (That was cool because I thought I lost it!) (Stuck it in a clip I use for razors and such)
I don't care because I'm not smoking. The thought of quitting tobacco was frightening to me before I found these. I knew what they were doing to me, (difficulty breathing, crackling in my chest...) and even if I could stop, I knew I would start again. Been there done that. I didn't want to give them up.
But, I have found something that I like better.
I vape more because I'm not beating myself up over it. Not worrying about running out, the cost, the smell, where I can, where I can't, where i'm going, how I smell, washing clothes I haven't worn, did I leave one burning, did I put it out, do I have time to finish it, should I even light it, is someone coming over, do they smoke, I can't smell it, does it stink, do I stink, I don't know anymore, or I do, and it does..and I hate it, and I can't stop it... that's addiction....
So if I have an Ecig, a Pacifier, a Nobacco in my mouth or at the ready all day every day, I don't care. More or less doesn't matter. It really is not the same. I can feel the effect of nicotine now. It is a stimulant. I couldn't feel that before. I'm facing the nicotine now, and not all the other stuff.
It's not what I choose to do, but it's better than what I used to do.;)

I was only thinking something similar this morning. When I'm sat at the computer or in the car I vape away like a steam engine. But if I'm busy the thought doesn't occur to me any more.

I've noticed now that I don't vape at all when walking the dog. I used to get through 4 analogues in a single walk most times!

So I'm considering a lower dosage for those Puffing Billy sessions. I don't plan on stopping, depravation for me increases the addiction.

True. That's the strange thing about vaping, and maybe the most difficult difference from smoking.
I find I actually miss having something burn down that is finite. One can speak of smoking a cigarette "in one sitting". But where do you finish, or begin for that matter, vaping?

This just got me thinking, we need two things: atomizers that can take more consecutive hits, and carts that are designed for 1 cig's worth of time.
The problem isn't that carts don't last long enough, it's that they last too long. ;)

I considered a battery box mod with a timer in it to tell me when my cigarette break at work is over. I've got no idea how long I'm out there sometimes, unless I stand and chat to a real smoker :)

I think this is because you can't take hits as quickly. My plan is to have at least three ecigs that I'll alternate with.
