I have an 18 yr old kitty. Smoked the whole time around her. The first time I blew some vape toward her, she ran like I had dumped a bucket of water on her. Now, she doesn't even wince. (BTW--Never blew the old cig smoke on purpose.)

Irregular heart beat? I thought that was just me having anxiety attacks. Come to think about it, I haven't had a problem since I started vaping...

Dog poo..smell it even more. REMINDER: Need to change dog's diet!!

Congrats on your first 30.

Awesome! I can't wait till I get my ecig! Do you guys notice any smoking withdrawal symptoms?

Oh I was just wondering because I read a sticky somewhere in this forum that nicotine is not the only thing you can get addicted to when it comes to tobacoo, and that often when starting with e-cigs you suffer from slight withdrawals and kick those addictions away and let nicotine be the major one, or something like that.

You will probably experience the usual quitting smoking symptoms that people experience; coughing up a bunch of lung junk, beginning to dream again (just like when you were a kid - not those freaky/scary ones you get on Chantix), some people get bleeding gums for a while due to increased circulation, some people get tightness in their chest if they don't start drinking a LOT more water because vaping will dry you out.

Some people have a really hard time replacing all the other stuff in cigarettes, especially the MAOI's (anti-depressants) that they put in there. I personally found that if I intentionally over-vape it was easier. The main thing is to make sure you have a strong e-cig and good juice in the right strength for you (usually 18-24mg). And don't be afraid to vape too much - if you get dizzy or nauseous you'll recognize those symptoms as nicotine od, just like smoking too much, and you'll slow down.

Don't vape the way you smoked. Don't wait until you can't handle the withdrawal before you pick up the e-cig - you don't have to do that anymore, just vape vape vape away... if you vape before you even have a chance to start thinking about cigarettes you'll do much better. And it'll slow down eventually - you don't have to be a vape-aholic forever.

Good Luck!

I think a lot depends on your attitude towards cigs. I smoked analogs for the first 10-14 days but only a few per day and within 2 weeks I wasn't even thinking about them anymore. Its been 4 weeks now and since hubby smokes they are in the house and would be easy to lite one but I don't want to. I vape heavily at 24mg. I hope to cut that down gradually but I'm not ready to try yet.
