This is one I witnessed last night I felt for the dude. He came into the shop last night and bout a penny clone and copper Tobh clone. He sat down to build it and proceeded to build a .08 dual 24 gauge parallels from one wire. Or as rip likes to call it a "sleeper coil" anyways it ohm'd out to .08 and he went to pinch and pull his coils he held down the firing button and melted his insulators. And the whole time he's bragging how he's a naval electronics expert. I felt bad he destroyed it before even leaving the store.

In the beginning, I had the usual unscrew bottom coil clearo from the tank rather then the base mistakes. Plenty of juice lost that way. My sister did something funny. She screwed her bottom coil clearo onto her MVP a bit too tightly. The base got stuck on it. It was an ego styler clearo, so she still had access to the coil and just left the base on the MVP and unscrewed the coil for a switch when needed. Last week, she forgot to put the coil in the base before she screwed on a tank. Of course, it didn't fire. She assumed it was broken and decided to wait until the 4th, knowing I'd come for a BBQ and figuring I'll fix it. She bummed cigs from her friends until I got there. I brought her another mod in case I couldn't fix it. One of my hubby's vvv3s he no longer used. When she handed me the MVP, naturally it was convered in juice. I asked her about it, and she claims it wasn't when it "broke". Two seconds later I saw why it was covered in juice (no coil head!) and in a minute I had the base off with a pair of pliers. She makes absolutely zero attempt at troubleshooting anything at all...

My mom and my aunt are both that way with their computers, knowing that compugeek Andria will "fix" them. My aunt told me her printer was broken, or something.. it "just won't print". When I sat down at it, I could clearly see the "refill ink" button flashing. She did have an ink refill cartridge, so I switched 'em out, and bang, printer no longer broken. :D

My mom's was even funnier. She says, "I can't get on the internet, can you figure out why?" Well, I'll do my best Mom. So I sit down, try to pull up her AOL... and it immediately says something on the order of, bill not paid. So I asked her, did you pay your AOL bill? She says, "Well, that's a story. I cancelled my Amex... blah blah blah." So I asked her, was the Amex the card they auto-billed you on? Yep, sure was. :D Well then, I say, call them up and give them a different card, and I guarantee you'll be able to get on the internet. :D

Can't believe only 1 other person here has done this. When I was mostly dripping, I liked to take the top off to add liquid for some reason, never liked dripping through the tip. Anyway, while watching TV, saturated a newly built coil and wick on an iGo-L and never replacing the top brought it up to my lips and hit the fire. Never gonna do THAT again!

OWWWW! I think on the rare occasions I use my Caterpillar, I'll start dripping thru the driptip! :D

OUCH!

I had trouble filling a tank once and did the stupid thing: held the bottle horizontal in front of me, looking at the bottle tip and squeezed it. Got a good spray straight in the eye. I was still very paranoid at juice toxicity back then so I must have held me eye under running water for at least 5 minutes straight.

However....I'm glad we can relate! hahaha I had that water running on my eye for a good minute...and the burn wouldn't stop!!!!

straight up taught me never to look down into an atomizer! haha

I don't get people like this...

Neither do I. Her friends were over at the time and had a good laugh at her expense, so hopefully she's been shamed into actually looking at things next time. I live about an hour and a half drive away, so it isn't like I can run out there when she has an issue. She has two now, so hopefully she'll continue using one if something happens to the other.

I had one a few weeks ago that you could call a vape accident. So I got up for work at around 7am. Figured I had some time to build a coil in my Kayfun and make coffee before I left. I have one of those Keurig coffee things, so I put my Starbucks thing in the top and click start. Go back to making my coil, all focused and whatnot, then my coffe maker starts going, and them I'm like "all right, coffee time!" Go into the kitchen to find the coffee pouring out into NOTHING. I forgot to put my mug under it..... coffee everywhere :(

Just the other day, I was going to my rental car with my mods in a padded cigar box. Just as I started to drive out the lot and I went to grab my box, I noticed that there was a nice strawberry smell coming from the box. Immediately I thought that my juice had spilled, so I opened the box a fast as I could. Then I saw it, the button on my Panzer Blackhawk had backed out, and the thing had been firing for a good while. I tried to unscrew the mod to get the battery out, but it was to hot to hold. Thank god, I had my leather gloves in my bag. I was able to take the dam thing apart, but the damaged had been done. It had melted the delrin insulator on my brand new Zenith C2, and melted a hole on the side of the LAST bottle of OMG juice, and as a result had confirmed my first suspicion and let all the juice spill out all over my box. Now I have to order a new insulator to be able to use my Zenith. Aside from that the mod was fine, and the battery was not damaged.

I have learned a few things from that.

1. Lock your mods or take out the battery so it can't fire in storage.
2. Use good and safe batteries. Thank goodness I use SONY VTC4s'.

I learned this lesson through experience, I hope you all don't have to.

Made a really nice micro coil ... my mod slipped as I fired it and I grabbed it quickly ...

Unfortunately the coil landed on the side of my finger for a second

Nine wraps I believe, or is it ten

The scar underneath that is from a X-acto knife accident while building a model airplane decades ago. Buried the blade in my finger. That was a lot scarier

Wow, looks like nine and nasty.

Did you use the coil after that one? That had to be one strange vape!
