I have a sub tank and TC mod using Ni200 coils. I have noticed that when I take a nap or otherwise not vape for a few hours that when I start vaping the hits are harsh for about 4 or 5 good hits then resumes vaping very pleasantly. Is there something I could do to prevent having those harsh hits? I do not want to call them dry hits because I get decent vapor. In my mind I wonder if the liquid may have thickened or slightly dried on the wick. Does anyone have an explanation for this experience or suggestions?

Thanks, Marshall

sounds like it could have slightly dried as you mentioned. I'm not familiar with pre-made coils as I usually make my own coils, but is their a way you can "prime" them again to keep from getting those semi dry hits? Does it taste burnt when you go to hit them after a few hours of sitting? when you say harsh, I'm trying to understand exactly what you mean. like the coil isn't completely saturated with juice? with your set up is there a way to control the juice flow? if yes, you might try increasing the. flow a bit after the unit has set awhile. Hope this helps. Good luck and hope you get the issue resolved.

I could try priming again . I have a Crown tank on a Sigelei 150 TC. The tank has plenty of juice in it so the wick should stay wet. It will return to vaping great its just annoying to have to put myself through those first 4 or 5 hits. I'm using 80 vg 20 pg. It's like a mystery. Thank you for reply. It is hard to describe the hits. It doesn't taste burnt but it burns back of the throat.

Actually, I think it is actually probably slightly flooding while sitting. Wicks/e-liquid doesn't normally evaporate in a short period unless it is extremely hot and dry.

Over saturated coils tend to throw off a mix of vapor and liquid which muddies the flavor. A few Good hits and the excess is vaporized returning things to normal.

Place upside down when not in use to avoid flooding.
Check for damaged seals or loose tank sections.
Air in = liquid out.
