Try adding 1 x drop of malt vinegar per 10ml of oxidized nicotine liquid. I don't think I've ever been so close to my once beloved Marlboro brand. I add .5 drop of Tiramisu per 10ml to my morning mix RY4... :)
Interesting, the vinegar. I once got a batch of nic base that had a nutty background and was terrific with coffee. My palate adjusted promptly and quickly and it was over quickly. Somehow reminded me perfectly of a Marlboro +coffee match.

malt vinegar - is a certified e-liq. flavoring or you actually mean to put vinegar in your liquid?
it doesn't sound safe to me, adding uncertified solutions to the juice may result in very bad lung damages as we can see right now with these thc vit.E acetate ..... If you are not 100% sure what's going to happen to the solution after it will get to your lungs after being vaporized at high temp, don't use it. :danger:

In the olden days a lot of DIY recipes had vinegar included along with lemon juice, citric acid, vodka etc. Tried most of them and i can state that they weren't up to much taste wise (that could be down to my then novice mixing skills). Can't recall ever getting ill though.

My bad... I used organic apple cider vinegar, but, I have used malt vinegar before. I don't see why a drop of malt vinegar per 10ml fluid would be an issue? From what I remember, people use to inhale vinegar + water via vaporizer to help with congestion. Is this not true? Water is lethal when consumed in excess, so...

The oxidized nicotine liquid gives these liquids a tobacco-like throat hit that I haven't gotten since I quite smoking. It's the one thing that I've always missed about smoking. I could get this when mixing my liquids at 18mg, but never at 3mg.

I got an oxidised 200ml of a local vendor in NZ. Like yours it had a very yellow tinge. When I mixed with it, it had no pepper taste - just the huge throat hit.

I stuck the rest of it in the freezer for 'justincase' and wrote an email to the vendor. For me personally, I no longer want a good throat hit, but yeah it seems to be a side-effect of oxidised nic base.

I don't always taste the pepper note. It may be coming from my Asian RY4 premix, I'm not sure? I mixed 60ml of RY4 Double, and there is no pepper note present.

Does aged nicotine liquid undergo a change in ph as it ages, I wonder?

I agree on the throat hit. I must confess, I love the throat hit! It was always my favorite part of smoking cigarettes. I wish big tobacco would stop fighting the vape industry, and get to work on developing an analog of the cherished Marlboro brand. Profit is in the liquids, not the devices. Logic is clouded by greed, and need for control. Develop a superior product = corner the market!

A year or two ago my room temperature 100mg nic base had yellowed just a little bit and throat hit had increased past the point where I liked it. I ended up using it to treat fire ant hills in my 2.5 acre yard. It made quite a dent in the ant population, much better than any of the Andro and other products I tried. It was an expensive cure, but two years out I see maybe 20% of the ant hills I used to have and the ones that I do see are small and easily treatable.

I transferred my replacement nic to 240ml bottles. They are in a box in the freezer at zero degrees and looking fine. I open the box very rarely to check and get one of the small bottles out for DIY. It's all clear. Two liters vaping DIY at 3mg/ml is projected to last me 18 years.

1 drop/10mL, I don't see why this would be an issue. Does malt vinegar contain oils?

Using a drop of an acid was recommended way back when. Lemon juice or vinegar. I regularly add a drop of lemon juice to fruit flavor vapes to bring out the flavor. It's been 8 years or so, I'm fine! There is also a "sour" flavor enhancer commercially available.

Lemon flavor is a little on the oily side, but probably not an issue. Lorann's says their essential oils are safe only when diluted in a vape juice. Since the hoopla about the people who had had lung issues vaping oil based flavor products I'd be hesitant personally.

Are LorAnn oils safe to vape?
Flavorings by LorAnn Oils contain many natural flavors, but they have excellent aroma and aftertaste profiles. ... Warning: LorAnn Oils flavors are concentrated flavorants, *not* e-liquids. Do not vape unless these flavors have been diluted in propylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin.
