I am an educator and will be spending 10 days in Europe with students. I cannot vape while there due to school regulations of chaperones. What is the best way to help me cope? I can easily got a school day without thinking about vaping. Travel is a huge trigger for me. I make my own liquid at 3.7mg. I have been vaping since 2013 and have been trying to reduce my intake ahead of the trip. I’m looking for something to replace the nicotine with drawl and to keep me sane. Have about a month and a half to figure it out. Any specific recommendations? Have been thinking about the patch and gum but have never used any of them.

I appreciate any help. Thank you! I do not plan to quit vaping, just need to figure out what is best to hold me over.

I've bought ZYN pouches for those times where I absolutely could not vape (ie. flights, work, conferences, Thailand, etc.). I'd link you to their actual website, but they want you to log in for some reason. It can be purchased at most convenient stores and is also non-spit.

BTW - liking the new avatar .

Thank you! However, I have never used any type of pouch. A couple of questions, is it terribly noticeable? Likely to get any type of gum or throat disease? It seems everything I have seen on snus says that it may impact your gums. Would it be wiser to go for the 6 or 3 mg? Also, how many would you typically use in a day?

I don't think they're noticeable; the pouch is about 1x.5x.125". Once in your upper lip, they flatten out pretty well. I haven't heard of any adverse effects besides the usual (hiccups, nausea, slight irritation). I use the 3 mgs and will usually take my pouch out for a while once I get my fix and then reinsert it one or two more times before I toss it, maybe using 3-4 a day, depending on the situation. 3-4 tins might work for 10 days. I believe they're sold in Europe in certain countries. If not, you might find a similar product or go the Swedish Snus route. Swedish Snus has a very good reputaion for being safe and is about the same size and shape.

Maybe get a tin and see how you do with them. I'm guessing once you get back, you'll go back to vaping?

I like the ON pouches. Citrus flavor, use em at work.

Look into swedish snus. They can be purchased at anywhere you can buy tobacco, even convenience stores. They are like snuff but come in little packets that you place in between your lip and gum. There's no spitting invovled.

I don't think they are legal in the UK, if have a check in customs there may be an issue.

So is it safe to say you're one of those people that puts their chewed gum on their nose for later use?

I think I'd like to get some of these to have on hand in case of mandatory & sudden no vape event. Do you store the tins in refrigerator? Any idea as to shelf life?

Not really. I have two almost expired tins; one in my vape drawer and one in my fanny pack.

Though, the chewables are on my radar.

Non-spit? You find that acceptable? Don't bring that stuff down here to Kentucky.

To the point, when I tried to quit smoking the lounges were useless. But, now that I vape exclusively, I find they can get me through some long days just fine.

I hope this isn't an inappropriate question. Will you have your own room at night? I find I can turn off cravings during the day as long as I can relax privately at night with my vape.

Otherwise, I read in this forum, a long time ago, about putting a drop of eliquid on your thumb nail and discreetly ingesting it to quell a bad craving. I guess the thumbnail measurement is a quick way to make sure you're not taking too much. It was a tip for long flights, but you could try it before the trip and see how it works. That, combined with privacy to vape at night, might help you through.

It sounds like a wonderful trip.
