Vaping and Asthma?

I have bronchial allergies and vaping has allowed me to breath better. I smoked for over 25 years. But you should ask your doctor if it is safe for you too vape. Good luck!

Will do. Good advice. Did you find that you had to use your medications less after starting to vape?

My friend and his mom swears vaping has helped them with their asthma and sinus problems. They didn't smoke and now Vape at 6 mg nic. He says he no longer needs to take the meds he used to take. He was reviewed by PBusardo about it at the tail end of his video at the NY Vape Fest. I personally no longer have the horrible post nasal drip I used to have and no longer use the prescription nasal spray I used to use. I guess you have to see how it works for you personally.

I would tread carefully depending on your condition and any medications you may be on, this is something you should consult with a Doctor on before trying if you are using an inhaler. Before you do talk to your Doctor, arm yourself with exactly what is in ejuice and how it will be delivered so you can show him what's really involved.

I have bronchial asthma that I only occasionally take over the counter medications for so I started vaping knowing nothing could be worse than the smoking I was doing, my breathing is now excellent and I don't have episodes anymore. I find I am more sensitive to allergies at this time, since it has only been a few months, but I feel it is due to my system being no longer clogged with smoke and more sensitive because of it.

Monitor yourself carefully and it could be the best thing you have ever done for yourself.

Yes I have asthma also, I was smoking real cigs for about 8 years until I started vaping a little over a month ago. On real cigs I had to use my inhaler basically every night/every morning when I woke up. Since vaping I really haven't had to use it at all, much much less than I used to at least, and I can breathe a million times better, with MUCH better lung capacity. My lung capacity seems even HIGHER now without even using an inhaler than it was right after I used the inhaler while smoking real cigs.

One thing though, I noticed PG liquids make me not able to breathe, like really really bad, I can't breathe deep at all and feel like I need an inhaler right away with 100% PG liquids...I don't know if it is just me or not, but I would be careful about that. My girlfriend said fog machines and the like, which use PG, is bad for asthma, so obviously vaping with PG would do the same thing. I don't know where she read that, or if it is true, but it seems to be true for me at least. Other than that, vaping 100% VG juices is working wonders, can breathe better, I can walk up stairs without losing my breath now, etc. I am smoking 20%PG/80%VG right now and that seems to be fine also, I haven't tried any higher PG concentrations so far, but I would stick on the high side with VG.

Ejuices are made up primarily of two liquids, propylene glycol and Vegetable glycerin. PG may even be used in your inhaler, it is a common food additive as is VG. there are Vendors who mix 100% PG or VG, or a mixture of both. I would try say a 50/50 at a ejuice store and if it bothers you, go less on the PG or go 100% VG.

I have asthma and COPD, since I started vaping I haven't had to use my meds for close to a year, I have gone almost a whole year now without one flare up of the bronchitis. There are other asthmatics here who have had improvements after changing from smoking to vaping. Also my dr has been impressed with the fact my lungs sound clear now every time she listens to them.

Disclaimer: The following information is about my experience only and is not medical advise. That being said... I have used rescue inhalers and combo steroid/long acting inhalers for the last 15 years. I was diagnosed with asthma 30 years ago. I started smoking 25 years ago. I quit smoking and started vaping exclusively almost 2 weeks ago and within 24 hours hours of quitting I was able to stop using my rescue inhaler. After 72 hours I quit using my combo inhaler. PG or vg does not seem to matter. Every now and then I get a little tight and just lay off the vapor for a bit.

I don't use my inhaler at all now. I've been smoke free for only a couple days. It really is amazing. I hope you quit also. It'll be the best thing you can do for yourself.
