The only difference in content between primary and secondary cigarette smoke is the filter, if one is present. The smoker primarily inhales smoke from the burning cigarette through the filter, while secondary smoke rises into the room unfiltered directly off the end of the cigarette.
So if secondary unfiltered smoke doesn't cause cancer, how can primary filtered smoke possibly cause it? Concentration? OK, how can anyone possibly know the concentration level of the secondhand smoke my friend inhaled while standing next to me in November of 1987 in that pub on Northridge Ave?
Because that's a study whose data gathering methods I'd LOVE to see.
