most people complain about your vape because they can.
its called passive aggression. your kids are smart. they
found a way to tweak you and you can't really argue back
about it.
your co-worker is a jerk.

current science indicates vaping is 98% plus or minus 1%
safer than smoking for the user. i would think exhaled vapor
would have to be just as much safer than cigarette smoke.
that means it would be impossible for exhaled vapor
to be harmful to a non-user.

I don't know if somebody else mentioned this, but secondhand vapor (if you hotbox a car) is approximately equivalent to 1 cup of coffee to the other person.

My GF who is a nurse wanted me to quit smoking and suggested vaping repeatedly because one of her friends did it (plus, she liked the smell - her friend was vaping a grape juice/flavor).

The GF has really strong senses and can't even smell my vaping unless I blow it right at her (which I try to avoid). My son is super happy about me switching, and my parents are ecstatic that I switched (and had also suggested it for several years). Also, none of my family or GF were ever smokers.

Whenever I'm vape in public I always try to maintain a low profile or not do it. Mainly because ppl have heard so many conflicting reports on vaping.

in public I don't really care but then again people just stare because they don't know what im doing and see the clouds coming out of my mouth lol

my wife is allergic to practically all of nature, haha, so I get it a lot, I've got 2 HEPA air filters in the house as it is. I just avoid vaping around her and it's fine. my cat definitely doesn't seem to care either way, hah, I think we're probably both more allergic to him than he is bothered by my vapor...

I do feel like there's a psychological thing when someone see's you vaping they will just assume it's going to bother them. you can't always assume that though, you're bound to rub someone the wrong way.

the guy who sit's across from me at work blatantly loads his clearos up and vapes at his desk, lol, it's one of those new-fangled open offices that the tech industry loves (ugh) but it's got huge high ceilings and I've honestly never smelled a thing, and I'm a pretty astute vaper, I can't even tell what kinda flavor he's vaping or anything. I still think it's a bit blatant to do it in an area tightly packed full of people though, but maybe that's just me.

I'll vape in public, but if people are walking by I'll wait until they pass and i've got space to myself. I feel like that's just common courtesy.

I treat vaping the same way I treated smoking. I don't do it inside unless I've asked permission and they've given that permission. So far everyone likes the smell. Except for cola ones and my fiance, she can't stand those. And as for pets and children, if they've given permission to do it inside their place then I just assume it's okay around the pets and kids too. But I still feel weird doing in front of kids, so if they're around I just go outside and get some fresh air.
My dogs don't seem to care. One even really seems to like it actually lol.

lol

And as for pets and children, if they've given permission to do it inside their place then I just assume it's okay

I read this wrong maybe but it looks like you said if your pets give you permission you can vape in their place? o.o lol

I think it depends on the particular e-liquid that you are vaping and whether or not is has an odor.
I haven't vaped in public yet, but here at home and inside my truck I do. The MAJORITY of the e-liquids I have vaped haven't given off any noticeable odor, (at least none of my family members have mentioned anything or complained) but I have noticed that a couple of e-liquids that I just recently bought last week from Mt. Baker Vapor give off a very distinct smell and the 'odor' is quite strong at times. I wouldn't say it's a BAD odor...like cigarette smoke, bit it's an odor none the less.
One in particular is the East Coast Tobacco flavor (50/50 blend)...everyone in my household has told me that they can smell this one. I've actually have only vaped it a couple of time as it has a very 'nutty' (hazelnut) aftertaste. The 'taste' alone lingers with you and after a while its not very pleasant...Each time I've tried vaping it (thinking it would get better) my son is the first one to pick up on the 'nutty' smell that is now going through my house.

I've walked into B & M vaping stores where the clouds are very thick (you can it with a knife in some stores, lol) and I have to admit, I personally do smell what I would describe as a 'stale' kinda moldy odor...similar to when you walk into a Goodwill Store.. LOL, that just might be me, I've been smoking for almost 30 years, so my sense of smell is probably shot.

I've got Declan's approval.

When I was smoking my cat, Declan hated it. It go to the point where as soon as I reached for my lighter, he jumped off my lap giving me crap.

Then after quitting and vaping full time, I noticed that while vaping he didn't leave my lap. Sometime he actually sticks his nose up into the vapour. So as a test, I took my phone out and blew a bunch of vapour into his face to snap a pic.

Now, before anybody jumps all over me, no I don't normally blow vapour into Declan's face. This was a one time deal.

But, cats and especially Declan, are pretty deliberate. If they don't like something, they have no problem letting you know. Declan hated cigarette smoke, and doesn't seem to mind vaping.

When I smoked I did it outside now I vape indoors...... My wife complains all the time about smells and the fog that sets in when I am chilling in front of the tv chain vaping my head off and I simply say I will go outside and smoke a cig then should I she soon stops complaining.... As for walking around the streets I really don't care what people think or look at me like they can go suck a bus's exhaust pipe....

The jury is still very much out on the topic but the vapor looks like smoke and can bother people strictly on associating it with actual smoke. Like Pavlov's Dogs.

I must respectfully disagree. Numerous studies have shown no risks from second hand vapor. I recommend that every person who vapes read these studies so they can better educate people around them and also be prepared to refute the ANTZ nonsense that will come their way.

You have a point with the fact that vapor looks like smoke but that should not impact the discussion. Water looks like vodka yet I do not see anyone calling for an open container ban on water.

I don't vape indoors mostly because I would be one of those people that would vape for 3 hours straight and not realize it. I also avoid it at work, gives me an excuse to step away from my desk for a bit. While I don't think it's anywhere as bad as smoking cigarettes, I know some people would be bothered by it at work. You wouldn't believe some of the things they whine about already.

I vape everywhere I possibly can except when I'm at work. I still enjoy going outside to vape as if I were having a real cigarette. Like esscee said, it gives me an excuse to step away from my desk. My coworkers told me they didn't mind it at all when I asked if I could puff away at the desk but then I realized I still enjoy going outside.

I also have a puppy that I vape around from time to time. It doesn't seem to bother him at all other then it grabs his attention and calms him down. He tends to drink more water when I'm vaping around him so maybe secondhand vapor somewhat dehydrates pets just as it does us?
