I started this journey over a month ago and while I like mount baker Mocha, it's my all day vape ONLY because it's tollerable at the end of the day. I've tried a lot of the others that were recommended and that 1 is 1 I ordered on accident and it's my fave. But with all the garbage I keep having to do and money we've had to spend and not get a vape I absolutely love? I just honestly don't see how this will ever become a hobby for the hubs and I. At this point it's just a means to an end to hopefully be completely off nic by April... sooner if I can do it. About 1/2 way through the day even my Mocha no longer taste yummy, because I vape dark juices I have to change out the heads on my vivi nova daily. It's just such a PIA!! I REALLY wish I could just put it all down completely and sell all this gear and juices. UGH!!!

Start some simple DIY.
By simple I mean order the PG/VG w/nicotine already mixed, a little higher than the strength you need (as it will come down as you add flavorings, etc.) instead of mixing it up.
Browse the flavors available from the flavoring companies for ones that you feel would taste good and start.
Don't waste your nic mix .....just make your samples with pure pg/vg or whatever ratio you use, in 3ml lots.
Plenty find their all day vape that way.
Great DIY section on the forum.

If nothing else, you will at least find out what flavors you LIKE.

Probably a good idea, I already mix my juices trying to mix it up a little but DANG I'm getting frustrated, I want every single hit to taste FANTASTIC and I'm pretty sick of having to change out that darn head every single day!!

That's how it starts...

I just wanted a better flavor out of my vivs, so I bought some cartos. Then I wanted to start rebuilding because it would be cheaper. Right? So I bought a phoenix RBA and some wick and wire and a multimeter. Then I thought I could get some better flavor with SS mesh so I bought a sheet. Then one of my twists died and I replaced it with a vision spinner. But then, I wanted to build lower ohm coils so I thought buying a mechanical mod would solve my problems so I bought the telescope and batteries and a charger. Finally the perfect vape...

But then I realized the Vamo could read my battery volts and my ohms so simply and it's s cheap so why not pick it up? And my lion charge was crappy so I picked up a better one and a spare battery just in case. Now I'm sitting here covered in mods, writing on a forum for e-cigs and thinking that DIY would make things a bit cheaper.

All I wanted to do was quit smoking, and then I started to chase the vapor dragon.

Hi! I hear you too! I got vivi mini novas like all the cool kids have, but they drove me up the wall. I just want to vape, not fiddle with stuff. Because I like cinnamon, which I didn't know at the time melts just about everything, I was forced to get carto tanks. I have glass and polypro ones. What a freaking difference!!! Put a carto in a tank, fill it up (learning to get the carto going takes a little practice) and then just vape. I have not had a single nasty hit. When it starts to taste a little burnt or weird, you change the carto. I have 4 tanks with different flavors in them that I rotate, so they hardly ever burn out. (I think if I used one exclusively, the carto would last about a week or so.) I wish I had known about this before.

I don't have an all day vape. I change flavors throughout the day, that is what makes me happy. Well, that and the fact the vivi nova is in the "crap" box with the other things that make my juice taste like crap or leak all over the place like the clearos. YMMV

It is and adventure figuring out what works for you, don't give up! I think the DIY suggestion was a good one, saves money and when you make one that is awful, it isn't so hard to toss it since it costs 10 cents a ml (if that).

Once you find what works, it will be much better. You have only been at it such a short time, I applaud you for sticking with it since you haven't found your ideal set up. Congrats on that!

I know the feeling. I have started to look at my pvs as fashion accessories, for crying out loud, lol. I'm constantly on the hunt for batts, drip shields and drip tips that I can match to my outfits..my friends think I have lost my mind, lol

I think everyone here is in the same boat. The first month or two is a high dollar experiment filled with frustration at best. I'm happy with my set-up now.... yet I still buy things I don't need. FYI - Wizard labs is a great place for DIY.

I'm doing my absolute best to bite my tongue and not UNLOAD on how much I think the Vivi Nova is not only covered, but absolutely slathered, in failure sauce.

I went against my better judgement and spent a little over 10 bucks on 3 replacement heads just to give it one more chance. They arrived today. Instant buyer's regret. Just disappointing on every level.

It's funny. VVN fanboys rave and rave and rave. But look at all the threads about how you need to tinker with them, how you need to swish them to get better wick absorption. Coils blacken, dry hits, juice tastes burnt. There are so many VVN threads about how to clean and soak them in vodka, how you need to trim and fluff the wicks. You need to do this, you need to do that. And the main thing they like to claim? "Fill and forget!"

......Are you serious? Really? Fill and forget?

Here is fill and forget:

I have a 2.0 ohm replacement carto for my carto tank. The flanged kind with the hole.

I take my juice. I tilt the carto and drip 20 drops into the filler, going N E S W.

I take the carto, and I slide it into my tank.

I then fill the tank with juice.

I screw it onto my device.

No dry hits. No swishing. No having to clean wicks or soak things in vodka overnight. No leaking issues. No nothing.

There, I said it.

DONE!

Honestly, I have a Visision ViVi Nova with the box and 2 unused 2.4 ohm replacement heads I'd be MOOOOOOOOORE than willing to sell to someone here, for like, super cheap. Or maybe trade me some smoktech 2.0 ohm replacement cartos for my carto tanks.

I hope its alright to post this but Marvin & Sennie and I just had a looooong conversation about carto tanks and theyre going to try a couple of 19mm Pyrex tanks from IBTanked with Smoketek single coil pre-punched 2 hole tank cartomizers and see how they work for them.

I also recommended some yummy Alien Visions juices for them to try, am looking forward to hearing how it works out.

I bought 3 and twenty heads and I hate them so much I would consider buying a pack if that's all I had to use. I despise them so....

I think the vivi nova gives a decent enough flavor vape for about 1/2 the day, then the flavor starts to go down, at that point I can only replace, I've tried cleaning in Everclear ( for Apple pie) because that's the only clear alcohol that I have and tried Dry burning but it doesn't look the same as it does in the video so I must be doing something wrong, but it's never as good as a fresh new head. Oh and if the rubber thingy at the top isn't sitting perfectly you get a mouth full of juice and btw I never notice until I get that mouth full of juice. UGH!! I just wish I could find the perfect delivery system and the perfect all day juice that taste as good at the end of the day as it does on a brand new head! It's extremely frustrating!!

I'd much rather take shots of vodka than let my heads soak in it over night.

I'm serious about getting rid of my ViVi Nova dirt cheap. I have the purchase slip from Madvapes, the box it came in, and two totally unused 2.4 ohm heads. I tried to GIVE IT away to a fellow vaper and she gave it back!! Hell, I'll take six bucks for all of it. That'd pay for two replacement cartos. Or a bottle of my favorite juice from Mt. Baker Vapor.

I haven't so much chased the vapor dragon, as chased information.

I can't seem to get enough reading here......even about stuff I'll never do. I'm just fascinated with the amount and depth of knowledge here, from fellow vaporers.

oh-oh. The *P* word.

I think you have to go for decent here, or you're setting yourself up for disappointment. :)

I just fast-forwarded thru my life and haven't come up with ANYTHING in it, or around it, that meets the *P* criteria. Is there any such thing?

As for better vapes and better juices.......you'd be surprised how many of our vendors got started, simply because they were looking for better juice or better equipment and couldn't find it. So none of us are alone in wanting to *improve* things for ourselves.
