Hey guys. I went to go see Gone Baby yesterday and me and my nephew were vaping throughout the whole movie. Just another great benefit that comes along with our hobby.
There were only a couple of other people in the theater and none of them complained but I was wondering other people's thoughts on this. Was that a douchey move on our part? I'm kinda torn. Also does anyone else have thoughts on other places indoors vaping (church lol).
Thanks

If you were stealth vaping, ok. If you were blowing clouds, a douchey move. I'm all for vaping in public, but at the cinema you're potentially negatively affecting the experiences of others with your clouds. The same goes for restaurants. I'll vape openly in bars (as long as it's ok with the owners), but no in the cinema or a the restaurant.

Welcome to the ECF boards.

This is the sort of Vaping behavior, which can potentially lead to more bans. It may also cast a poor reflection on the Vaping community.

My comments may not be greeted well, by most. However, my only concern is not to further tarnish Vaping and invite more scrutinizing eyes.

I have several questions for you, before I pass jugement.(1.) Were you up in front of the theater,or in the last few rows? (2.) did you try to obliterate the screen or set off the fire Alarms, or did you try to keep down the Vaper to thin Sirus type clouds? (3.) Did you get asked to stop? (4.) Did you get thrown out or arrested? (5.) Did anyone stop and curse you out as you were leaving after the Movie? (6). At anytime did you see notification that this Theater forbid Vapeing in the facility? If the answers to these questions is (1.) Last rows.( 2). sirus clouds. (3.) No. (4.) No. (5.) No. (6.) No. Then you were acting appropriately for the circumstances, and did nothing wrong. Any Vaper who gives up their right to Vape in public places before the practice has been Banned (by Law) has already raised the Flag of surrender, and declared that they are doing something "BAD"! Until the powers that be declare me a criminal, I refuse to act like I'm commiting a Crime! I agree, be respectful of others and aware of the circumstances, just so we don't attract public Anger. But that said "Don't Give Away your Freedom"! Force the Government to enact Flawed Laws that can be fought in the Courts. :2c:

I have had the opportunity to speak, personally, with the CEO of Regal Group, Amy Miles at her home. When I asked about her corporation's stance on the use of e-cigs in theaters, her response was that it would be a no-no if it lights up or anything that would distract other patrons including puffs of vapor clouds. Our discussion was brief, and I didn't really get a formal yeah or nay.

I vape when in the movies. I do so discretely. Non-lit mod, blow vapor down shirt or into shirt if other patrons are close-by.

You were only as douchy as others perceived you to be. If you vaped unnoticed, totally not douchy.

I posted this response a while back in another thread...
Just last night we were at the movies and I have always sat on the back row. I stealth vape when there and have seen a few others doing the same. I've never had a problem. About 15 minutes in, a group of young adults 8 rows down fired up the drippers and let them rip. Thought to self, WTH? Really? They were asked by a couple in front of them to please stop. It blew up from there. Security came and escorted the very loud and dirty talking vapors to the exit. Everybody in the theater was given a free movie pass for the disruption. There is a time and place for everything and this wasn't it for clouds.
