Hello all!

So I'm creating this thread for a friend. Although i do not believe there is a connection between pneumonia and vaping, i have heard from a reasonable number of people that they are afraid to vape because they have been told it would give them pneumonia.

My personal opinion is: If you can sit in a sauna and breathe that steam for hours, how is an e-cig going to hurt you every 30 or so breaths.

Anyway- All input is appriciated.

Well now we know why so many new vapers appear to be such hypochondriacs.

Does your toe hurt from vaping?
Does your nose twitch more since you've been vaping?
Have you gotten the plague at all from handling bottles eJuice?
My hands are always dirty since I started vaping.
My eyes used to be blue but now they are brown. I think it's from vaping.

Sorry but...

I haven't had a chest cold, bronchitis, or pneumonia since I started vaping and this was unheard of before I started vaping.

This has been my experience as well, working in a sealed building with careless and perpetually sick people who spew bacteria openly in every hallway ...

In past years, I was automatically doomed to a 2 or 3 week period of misery every fall or winter. This year, after 10 months of vaping and not smoking, not even a sniffle ...

Scientific ? No ...

Convincing ? Yup ! :D

Sure hasn't in my experience and, actually, if you're one of those unlucky folks prone to getting bronchitis from allergies or smoking that developed into pneumonia from thick mucous bacteria started growing in, then you'll most likely be ahead of the game vaping. I had bi-annual bouts of bronchitis that took months to clear up so, basically, I just had a few months a year without it. I was diligent about bringing up the mucous with meds and vaporizers and didn't get pneumia while my step-daughter who suffered the same thing (we were both smokers with allergies) wasn't diligent about it and it always developed into twice-a-year pneumonia. Since we started vaping, the days of bronchitis are a thing of the past so, unless we get a flu bug that causes severe congestion, pneumonia is unlikely.

Here's some history on how that myth got started. He has a few posts on his blog about it. You can google "the rest of the story tobacco lipoid pneumonia" to find the rest of them.

ETA: here is the first post: http://tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.com/2013/05/german-cancer-research-center-lies.html

and this is a follow-up: http://tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.com/2013/06/german-cancer-research-center-corrects.html

Thank you very much, dear
.. I was just thinking of those examples when I read the words "vaping" and "pneumonia". That unspeakable Cancer Research Center is in my country, Germany. And yes, they have attempted to scare off smokers from switching to the 99% less harmful e-cigs with that lie about pneumonia. ..

Now it IS interesting why a cancer research center would try to demonize a product that does NOT cause cancer. (and does not cause pneumonia, for that matter)
Until you remember that funding for a cancer research center is high when incidence of cancer is high.
Now, what happens to the funding when the incidence of cancer, e.g. lung cancer, decreases? When more and more people switch to a product that does not cause cancer, for example.
Makes one wonder....

Just so you know, I did get the plague from handling juice bottles. No lie.

I actually believed this might be possible with sub-ohmming.. Because I watched some 20/20 report on kids vaping alcohol over dry ice. They said the dangers were alcohol poisoning and pneumonia from all the vapors turning into moisture inside the lungs. When I had surgery, I had to blow hard in a little device for a week, to rid my lungs of any moisture that developed during the operation... So moisture in lungs can lead to pneumonia... So it seemed logical to think something like sub-ohmming massive vape clouds could lead to pneumonia.
