Vaping causes pneumonia?

If you go outside for a vape in wet clothes in sub zero weather it can lead to pneumonia. It can also kill if you lay on railroad tracks while vaping. With the way the city councils eats are voting, these things might be used as arguments to ban it in your town too

FWIW I am an RN that works out in the community. I deal a *lot* with people who have the flu/bronchitis/pneumonia. vaping DOES NOT CAUSE pneumonia. Period. However, there is always the idea that inhaled anything (including inhaled meds) could cause some lung tissue irritation, but that in and of itself is not pneumonia. Any irritation could potentially make someone more susceptable to pneumonia *if* they catch a bug. Take that info for what it is, if the alternatives are Analongs, vaping certianly causes a heck of a lot less irritation than them. Everything is relative. I still think it is really worthwhile to pay attention to how your body responds to different concentrations of PG/VG, and experiment a bit to get the ratio that satisfies you while keeping you happy with the way your lungs feel.

PG is actually an antimicrobial disinfectant, so if anything it actually helps prevent pneumonia.

I haven't had a chest cold, bronchitis, or pneumonia since I started vaping and this was unheard of before I started vaping. So my answer is a great big, "NO it does not cause pneumonia."

When I smoked three packs per day, I used to have four or five colds per year, and about every third year, one of those colds turned into bronchitis.

I've been vaping for just over three years. I have not had one cold. And I'll even let people with upper respiratory infections take a toke off my PV.

Some pneumonias are caused by bacteria, some by viruses, and some by a mycoplasm, which the doctor explained to me as a hybrid organism. (that's the kind I had 2 years ago). Vaping has nothing to do with any of these organisms.

The only issue I have had with ANY type of congestion since starting was after about two weeks. It was all the crud built up over 35 years finding it's way out. After that, not an issue! There are so many wives tales around vaping that it gets the uninformed in an uproar about it.
