I've been told not to vape at a Korean BBQ place which has lots of ventilation... Strange but of course I just stopped. I vape everywhere until someone tells me to stop and I don't vape when in a family environment with kids around. Although there isn't any second hand to vaping, people that see a cloud of vapor look at it as smoke so I either take it outside or away from the kids out of courtesy.

I was really nervous to vape anywhere where people could see me my first week after I switched from analogs. It's been a little over a month now though, and I'm more comfortable doing it in more places. I'd be nervous to vape in a restaurant or anything as I don't like to draw too much attention to myself, but I do vape in the back at work, and stealth vaped (hold the vapor in until there's no cloud) last time I went to the movies.

I vape everywhere also, but do not blow clouds of vapor out when I am in a place where people may be offended. I tend to keep it to myself so as not to call undo attention to it. People do notice but I don't act like I am doing anything wrong so they must figure it's okay. And that includes in front of kids, I just tell them it is like an asthma inhaler and they don't pay it a second glance. They know what a cigarette smells like, and this ain't it. They really don't make the connection. Well, that and my PV looks nothing like a cigarette.

As long as you are respectful of others, all should be just fine.

I've only been vaping for three weeks, so I can only give you my limited experience. I do vape in public, and that's one of the biggest joys of taking up vaping. My work is totally supportive, and lets me vape at my desk. I also vape in grocery stores, restaurants, and coffee shops. I generally try to ask the people working there if it's alright, though, because I don't want to offend anyone. I also don't blow clouds of vapor, either, because I don't want to have to explain myself to anyone.

However, I DO like the idea of telling little ones that it's an asthma inhaler. Takes the 'Sonic Screwdriver-ness' off of it, and nor does it look like a cigarette.

2 weeks of vaping so far, using a vamo and vivi right now, and I vape lots of places. But to not attract attention and get into arguments, i have yet to vape in a big store like wal mart.

i bring my grandmother for chemo every week, and in the hospital i go vape in the bathroom. I vape freely in the movies, car, house, dog park, and a bunch of non smoking areas such as my uncles truck, my uncles house, etc.

In reality, I would not accept being told to not vape somewhere UNLESS its a airplane or hospital. Because no one can tell you to not vape, only ignorant people who do not know what it is will try.

edit: also one of my friends saw my vamo and asked if it was a deneurolizer (spelling, the memory wipe device from men in black)

Actually, you are wrong. Any place can tell you not to vape and you do NOT have the right to do so wherever you please. It is best to keep the vapor to yourself and not blow huge plumes. I DO vape in the hospital though and no problems there. I would not vape in the movie theater unless you are not blowing any vapor at all and stealthing it as that could get into someones line of the screen (unless of course you were in back). I realize you are new, so am hoping that you will not think you CAN vape anyplace because it is simply not true.

Please be courteous, if asked to stop do so, and keep the vapor to yourself in public places. People tend to think that where there is smoke there is fire, and with all the legislation to ban these wherever smoking is banned you always want to leave others with a positive experience with a vaper.

Please check your attitude, that is what is getting these things banned.

I vape where smoking is allowed. If people start vaping where ever they please (restaurants, movies, planes, stores), this will be the main reason that government gets involved with legislation. Hell, it just happened in California! I don't see why people feel the need to push their luck. Enjoy your vape where smoking allowed and everyone is happy.

For me, I treat it like cigs for now. I just vape where I normally smoked which is usually not in front of people anyway. The only place I've run into 'weirdness' was at a meeting (friend of Bill W) where I was standing outside with the other smokers. I use a ProVari and a REO, so not cigalikes. People are immediately suspicious that there is a relapse in progress, but once I explain what it is, people are really supportive. The smokers really want to know about it, especially after I tell them about all the flavor choices.

The main places I try and avoid vaping are around sensitive electronic equipment. The server room at work is off-limits IMHO. Good rule of thumb for me is, if I used to be able to smoke somewhere before NC Smoke Free laws went into effect, its probably kosher to vape there. Just be ready to explain yourself to anyone who asks.

well the first thing is i always sit at the back in the movies, and during a movie it is pitch black, so i would never worry about that. I look at vaping in 2 ways, there is no law against it, so i vape where I want, BUT, I also have respect, therefor I would not vape somewhere where it would cause a scene. I am the kind of guy that is very large and angry looking, that no one messes with, so i don't worry about being bugged, but i still do what is best. For example, my girlfriend said to me in mcdonalds "why don't you vape if you're getting such a bad nic craving" I was like ok, went to the bathroom, vaped, and came back.

I was also vaping in the gym and had everyone laughing about it, i even let the owner try it lmao.

I vape at my desk at work because noone can see me that would say anything about it...other than that i really don't vape anywhere i wouldn't smoke just because i know there's a lot of people that don't understand and would feel offended or stare in confusion. I don't stealth vape though, irritates my lungs when i hold in the glycol like that, i usually don't inhale to my lungs much
