One thing that really gets to me is when someone says they vape any where/every where. All you have to do is ask if it is ok, it's really not that hard. And if you get the ok, you don't have to stealth vape. Those new to vaping have to realize that vaping is still not very socially acceptable. The majority of people still don't understand it, so they demonize it. That's why so many who are against vaping use the old "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck. It must be a duck." quote. We need to educate others before we can vape all willy nilly.

I haven't been told not to vape anywhere, but I rarely go anywhere (I stay home & homeschool my munchkin, so there's not much of an "outside the home" life for me right now). My friend went out for St. Paddy's and was told she couldn't vape in a bar in Bristol, VA though. She moved on to one on the TN side and had no issues. When I'm out getting groceries or something, I usually vape as I'm walking toward the store, just like I did when I smoked, and I get a lot of funny looks, pointing, whispering, etc., but no one has actually approached me about it.

I have only been vaping for 3 weeks, and usually vape at home or in my car. So far, I dont vape that much during the day, and usually wait until I am in a comfortable place. This weekend I was at my usual bar with my wife vaping at the bar, and they let me vape for a bit, but then asked me to go outside, because other people in the bar were llighting cigarettes after they saw me exhaling vapor. They thought it was OK to smoke, and the bartender said he had to tell four or five separate people to put out cigarettes. It wasn't that they thought that I was smoking, it was that they were trying to use "oh i didnt know, I saw another guy smoking" in order to get a few drags of an analog, without going outside. (thats what the bartender said he thought it was) of coarse they all said that they saw me "smoking" and no one stopped me so they thought it was allowed to smoke.

Out of respect for others, I simply ask if it is alright. Those who don't understand will ask me what Vaping is. I've found it to be an excellent way to help smokers quit. If its a smoker, I explain what Vaping is all about. I tell them my experience and how it helped me quit, then I kindly hand them a card to the nearest Vape store in town. Most are extremely appreciative!! If they prefer I not vape, I politely say "thank you" and refrain from Vaping!!! :p

Excellent point. I really sympathize with proprietors. They do function under no smoking laws and fines. Just this weekend I learned something. I don't normally have my PV out while shopping but was vaping in the car and just stuck it in my shirt pocket to run in and get something quickly. At the checkout there was a delay to price check an item and I unconsciously and habitually grabbed my PV and used it. Nothing was said to me but I thought about it later and it won't happen again. My PV will be harder to get to. Its so dang easy compared to having to take the smokes out and light.

Pretty much common sensical. I vape in public, openly where smoking is generally allowed, and try to be discreet where it may not be allowed or questioned. I feel no need to be pushy or 'in your face' with vaping (even though I have tended to feel that the bans on smoking analogs and where one can smoke them have gone way too far in many cases.)

I have found that when I do smoke in public, many people are curious as to what it is I am 'smoking'. Gotta laugh.......I was tootin' on an ego twist, blowing clouds of vapor, when a very elderly woman smoker came up to me the other day, asking me what I was smoking. After I explained, she said she just has to get one. Never too late to stop the analogs, bless her soul........

I find if I take smaller hits and kinda hold them in alittle long not much vaper cames out of my lungs. Not sure if thats a good thing or not. Bbut like I a restaurant its helpful. I will vape anywhere the mall, restaurant, Disneyland, ect but im EVERY.aware at all times if there's kids or people standing close to me stuff like that. I have had people mad dog or give me dirty looks. The oyher day in the mall while waittig for my girl to try on her stuff in a store I took a hit. One of the other guys standing over by the dressing room was looking not to happy with what I was doing. So I walked over to him and explained r to him what it is and how it worked. The funny thing is I found most poeple will start to ask question and want to know about it. I would say vape anywhere just b respectful of those around u. Last thing we want to do is give vaping a bad name.
