Hello!

I have smoked a pack a day for years, probably 10 at that level. First I tried an ego-t, then I got dual coil cartomizers for the ego batteries.

I'm looking for advice on a new device to get. I want consistent vapor production, and not feel like I am trying to suck my teeth out of my mouth!! I get a new cart and it's pretty good for a while, but seems to get really hard to drag on. Also, I feel like I have to use it constantly throughout the day, or else I really have an urge for a cigarette. I think that is because it is difficult to get vapor out of.

I think I need a more powerful device, something that creates an immense amount of vapor with little effort and doesn't have too many quirks. I'm not worried about side, it can be the size of a big mag light for all I care. :)

I was looking at the screwdriver and the roughstack v2, but I'd hate to buy and realize later I missed something better. I know it's a subjective question "what's the best PV?" But the issue for me is the ego doesn't seem powerful enough, and is there any different type of atomizer that perhaps lasts longer, generates better vapor?

Thanks a lot!!

A cheap way to get more vapor production and throat hit is to get cartomizers with a lower resistence like the Boge 2.0 Ohm cartomizers.

If you want the best then you might want to look at the Provari. Also, for slightly more wattage you can go with an E-power, K-Go or Silver Bullet. The Silver Bullet can be used at 3.7v or 6v. Of course there is the Roughstack you mentioned and the Lava Tube, iPro and Buzz Pro, Megolodon, Screwdriver. Then there are the box mods like the Darwin, Vmod and Reo.

There are a ton of really good mods. Choosing the right one for you will take some time.

What PG/VG juice are you using? Because you shouldn't have to be dragging so hard with a manual battery unless the wicking and airflow of your cartos/tanks is degraded with thick juice (or juice full of flavoring sediment) OR alternately using 100% PG which makes very thin vapor. And what color is your juice and is it crystal clear or cloudy? Do you see it drop any flavoring sediment in the stuffing? (that stuff will ruin the drag pretty fast)

And re dragging - Are you pressing the manual button in 1-2 second early so nice vapor is waiting, dragging slowly, letting the button up just before the end of your drag to help relieve any heat suction, then inhaling?

Have you tried what most people prefer, normal single coil low resistance cartomizers which are hotter than vaping 2 standard resistance coils?

Ego is 3.4v
Any 3.7v mod will improve the heat of your vapor (at least until the latter part of a 3.7v device's charge where it may dip below 3.4v)

Atomizers - I don't use them much. But there's are all of the 510 and 306 atomizers (and many prefer 306 for dripping) plus all of the other atomizers you can use with an adapter. Some like 901's, some like 801's. I prefer cartomizers for every day vaping.

Riva Indulgence V3. I've owned/own all types of big battery mods and have been really impressed with this one. Can be vaped at different voltages depending on the batteries you put in it. All mechanical which is always a plus...no more worrying about a broken connection. Slap 2 x rcr123a batteries in it (lifepo4's) with a dcc and you'll experience vapor like you never dreamed of.

Unfortunately, when cartomizers get hard to draw on, they're shot. You can try cleaning them but not worth it IMO. I get about a week out of one depending on the type of juice I'm using. Primevaping is a clogger so about 2 days tops for it before I toss it.

The liquid is colored, but generally clear, unless it sits for a long them, then it turns very dark. I've got menthol, candy cane, black licorice. It sounds like the bulk of my problem might be not replacing cartomizers frequently enough.

I do tend to start the button a little earlier, I've never tried a single coil low resistance atomizer though. I will try that.

I'm not really sure it's the heat of the vapor, I think it becomes quantity when the cartomizer gets old/junked up.

Is there no device that uses a piezoelectric type atomizer? I have no idea what the mechanics of that would be, I'd think it would be effective for longer, but I could be wrong.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot everyone!! I went with the silver bullet, and took the advice on the life of cartomizers. For some reason I want to think of them as more permanent, less disposable. I love the battery life of the silver bullet so far! And I just went ahead and got a bunch of cartomizers so I can throw a new one on when I get sick of an old one. Back to vaping without craving cigs, so... thanks!!!!
