If you don't smoke, don't vape, it isn't "cheap" by any means. Vaping while healthier than smoking is not better than breathing just air. I'll say to you as my kids, don't pick up smoking and don't start vaping either. I know, sounds hypocritical but if I had never smoked, I wouldn't be vaping now, nicotine or not.
If you can't afford a therapist, and can't find any local help with it, there are options. First religious or not, many churches have counselors and won't charge a penny. Many will respect your wishes on religion (whatever it may be) and still offer to help you. If that isn't your thing (for many it isn't and that's okay) you can go to AA meetings, I suggest calling to find one and speak about it before just showing up.
There are different kinds of AA and even NA groups depending on where you live. There are also other types of support groups that meet again, depending on your area. Your local health clinic, state website, or google support groups for your area, are some great ways to find something.
Then there's always jogging, cycling, joining a gym (cheaper than vaping), yoga, Tai Chi and other forms of exercise. Getting the body right, helps get the mind right and vice versa. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.
