Whats an ibtanked? How are they different from a regular tank ?

An IBTanked is the "Cadillac" of cartotanks.

You can get cartotanks on FastTech for about $10, SmokeTech cartotanks (in the U.S.) for $15-$20 and an IBTanked for $24 and up. (If you order one add the "Refilling Drip Tip" for $2.50. It makes refilling a breeze!)

The IBTanked are hand-made (a family company), Pyrex, have choice of wonderful colors/designs and come with a "thingy" that makes priming the cartomizer almost effortless (they come with illustrated instructions).

Pictures of them are here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tanks/484566-ibtanked-show-em-off.html

They have an ECF thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ibtanked/339809-do-you-fiddle-your-thingy-190.html

Cartotanks will give more flavor and be more consistant than a clearomizer. The major difference is the wicking system used.

Clearomizers depend upon tiny silica string wicks to carry the juice to the heating coil. They may have trouble keeping up with a moderate to heavy vapor causing dry or burnt hits and inconsistancy.

Cartomizers are steel tubes packed full with polyfill for the wick, totally surrounding the heating coil, for a much larger surface area of wick. With each vape, the polyfill is re-wicked with juice from the tank for carefree & consistant vaping.

IBTanked cartotanks review

Is it a carto, a tank, or what?

Flexsr FWIW....
I'm another "old timer" and I just made the leap into cartomizers.

For my first time out I went with a Boge F15 tank as well as a box of the F15 cartos.
Including shipping the whole shmear came to $14 and change. I wanted inexpensive to get me feet wet.

Worth every penny spent and then some!

Looked through Baditude's blogs, watched a few videos, Busardos being the most informative for me, and I'm proof that there is not necessarily any frustration to be concerned with. This comin' from a fella that couldn't get the much ballyhooed Aspire to work for beans!

Give the carto tanks a shot, odds are you'll find a place for em' in your vaping arsenal (-:

Hey Baditude...you're--with your posts and blogs--the one who precipitated my advancement from clearomizers to cartotanks! You totally changed the course of my vaping adventure.

Two quick questions (if you return to this thread):

1. I use batteries with Variable Wattage (iTaste VV3 and MVP2) of 6W to 11W. I can buy cartomizers from 1.5Ω to 3.2Ω. What Ω would give me the best vapor/versatility?

2. Any thoughts on the (new?) "SMOKtech Nickel Mesh DCT-2-A Single Coil Tank Cartomizer"? It appears to be an atomizer with NO filler that you can use in your tank?

Tried responding 3 times to gerry but ipad keeps deleting my words. So gonna trya and cut it short. Go between 1.8 and 2.2 ohm on the mvp.. That will allow a food spectrum of the vv or vw to be used so you can dial in perfection No idea on second question.

Yes i agree tons with "olderthandirt. ". The flavor on the cartos and boges are great to me. I do find at least one per package of 5 that were kinda crappy. I used exclusively cartos on my reo bottom feederfor literally years ! . Worked out so good i left the rooms for 2-3 years. Thats a good deal on tank n pack of 5 boges ! Remember where you got that?

However when i came back 2 months to the rooms rbas were all the craze and thank goodness i already had a reo vv and a reo grande cause the rbas work great with them.

However. The Ecf struck again and "made me " lol purchase an mvp for 35 bucks - !!!!

I will get the ib tank tanked with 1.8-2.2 boge cartos - do people goi with 2 holes or three ? Im guessing it might be worth buying a carto puncher also.
Orrrrrrrrrrr

Debating the kayfun clone to use on mvp as well instead of carto tank... Ugh. Well see

Hmmm .... Just gonna let it simmer..... I might even just sell my mvp on ebay even if have to take a 5 dollar loss on it. It seemed like a no brainer to buy it as it has a built in ohm reader and i was gonna purchase one (ohm reader) anyways for 15 bucks. In addition to the ohm reader the mvp has ability to charge cell phones and is vv/vw ---- figured how can i go wrong buying it. But really trying to save money at this time in my life. - and i know once i get the mvp ill be off on chasing the dragon for the best topper.

In my opinion bottom feeders are just amazing. - kanthsl wire is super cheap and i just build and fill up my reo with juice and im good to go. Aye carumba.

Learned what i need to know on tanks n clearos - thank you.

I'm so pleased that I was able to make a positive influence on your vape experience. I appreciate the shout out. :thumb:

This is predicated on your personal preference and experience. I will say that a higher ohm coil resistance will allow you a wider range of power than low resistance will. Personally, I prefer cooler vapes so I use 2.5 - 3.0 ohm single coil cartomizers on my regulated devices. I use the two hole pre-punched variety. More specifically Ikenvape SR Platinum or 510-Fusions.

IMHO, low resistance coils are best used for fixed voltage devices like mechanical mods.

I bought a batch of similar cartos about a year ago. they didn't work out well. I have trouble calling these cartomizers. In my definition of a carto, it has polyfill as a wick material which surrounds the coil. This is what allows the carto to perform the way I expect it to. Removing the filler from a carto makes it more like a submersable atomizer IMHO, and these cartos don't have the sophistication that a submersable atomizer has (ie Sophia, Killer, et al).

I love my itaste vv 1.0. I been using a vm nova tank-o-whatever. Its all metal except the chimney. I add about 20 drops to top it off, I believe its 3ml, not quite as big around as a quarter and the tank cylinders just over an inch. Ive had it going on 3 yrs now and never had to change a coil. Once I cleaned it and put a new coil/wick in, just because, a couple yrs back. I still have the 3rd extra that came with the tank. This whole set up is bullet proof! This is all I know, ever had and for sure all I will ever need.
