Can I ask, is this general all over grease or a localised spot?

I started vaping in my car, then after about a week I took my car to a cleaning service. It wasn't a good one, and they sprayed some cheap polish on the car and the windscreen.

The next day I noticed I had four localised 4 inch diameter spots of a greasy substance on the windscreen, with runs from the spots to the bottom of the windscreen.

I can't get this greasey off. This was over a month ago. It's almost as if a grease like substance has gotten between two layers of glass.

Really don't know if it was the car wash or the vaping.

I use windex and that always does the job I'm on a 50/50 mix though

Do not use any window cleaner that contains ammonia if you have tinted windows. It will break down the adhesive and your tint will start peeling off.

If you have tinted windows get a window cleaner made specifically for tinted windows.

This is what I use...

I turn the fan on higher and crack the window. The fan creates to much air in the car so it escape out the 1" crack. actually see the cloud going to it. The military uses the same concept (over-pressurization) to keep many airborne chemicals out...among other things.

Anyway, it seems to really help.

I can say it's not necessarily vaping (or smoking) that causes the film (sometimes). I once had a car (2000 Mazda 626) that got an awful film on the windows no matter what I did. The car was never smoked in before I bought it, and I rarely if ever smoked in it (maybe once or twice in the 1 1/2 years I owned it) and about every month I had to clean the windows because there was a nasty cloudy film on them. I cleaned the windows with several different products, and the result was the same, they looked good for a week or so and the film started building up. I didn't vape then, so there was no reason for the windows to be filmy. It was a beautiful car but ended up having major problems with the engine, so got rid of it. Have never had the same problem before or since. I've started seeing a film on the windows in my current car, but I'm sure that is from vaping. Whatever, I'll clean them eventually. I rarely open the windows while vaping so I can understand it building up somewhere.

When I first started vaping I was thinking "great, no more cigarette nicotine on the windshield". Then the haze came. Not as intrusive, but definitely there. I just clean it like I always have.
At least the car doesn't smell like an ashtray anymore though.

Not to mention the brown goo on your wipes... yuk!

That almost sounds like a small leak in the heater core, depositing a coolant film on your windows...
