Yeah I saw that NYC soda story on the Daily Show...

I did a bit of research and some of the rulings in countries around the world, as you say, are very troubling, especially when they still openly allow tobacco products. That beggars belief!

The question is... are personal vaporisers inherently dangerous? If so, then prove it and ban it. If not, then why the discussion? The issue of nicotine and the other ingredients found in e-liquid are a completely separate discussion, and they need their own day in court, which I welcome. Liberty and democracy are worthless if we are not informed, imho.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I refer to my setup as my personal vaporizer, and I like to tell people that I'm inhaling vapor, NOT SMOKE! The liquid is called personal vaporizer liquid, as that seems more appropriate than e-juice. I'll avoid terms like e-cigarette and e-juice, especially when talking to people in person about what I'm doing. I've had great response with those methods, and I've never had anyone get negative on me. Of course, I'll go into outlining, briefly, the lack of chemicals that are in cigarette tobacco that aren't used in my PV.
Although one person told me something along the lines of, 'I only smoke tobacco. If it doesn't have tobacco, I won't use it.'
Had a little chuckle after that one.

I have been wondering if they were to use the Leaves, flowers and stalks of the pituri bush that grows in Australia that has a very high nicotine content, if then they would not see it as a tobacco anymore. Nicotine doesn't have to come from tobacco, its just the easyest way to get it in this country. so the association is nicotine=tobacco in every ones eyes, which is not so.

The farther PV get away from the word "tobacco" the better. I believe even using e-cig is bad in many cases, people just dont understand the difference. There are so many stigmas and preconcieved notions about smokers that it hurts the PV imho. And now that BT have jumped on board that even makes it worse in peoples eyes that its just more of the same from the tobacco companies.

It really has nothing to do with tobacco anymore, other than they get nicotine from tobacco. Wish that could be changed to get it from one of the many other nightshade plants.

Do you think we'll see the day when vaping will be viewed as something entirely removed from tobacco cigarettes? or will the association persist simply from the fact that it contains nicotine?
Basically this is a question of whether or not truth will eventually win out over propaganda.
And I guess that is going to depend, in large part, on how willing we are to fight.
