No matter what method is used to quit smoking (including vaping) some folks find it takes a great deal of willpower & real desire to quit.

The buzz you got from cigarettes was not from the nicotine, it was from a combination of all the additives in the tobacco which created that reaction in your body.
Not to mention the tar that gunks the Lung and carbon monoxide.

Concensus seems that I should up my nic level.

I'll try that but it'll take time to procure nic. The current one I have is the highest mg epuffs.in was selling. I'm in India and online orders of nicotine in pg/vg base get stuck in customs. Flavored E-juices sometimes pass sometimes sent back by customs. I'm trying to find more sources.

Good point about WTAs but I think I should stick to nic. Tobacco is what I'm running away from after all. Vaping has reduced my cravings during the day and I smoke less, but I think I can vape more and more with each passing day so that I can reduce cigarettes to 3-5 a day until I start feeling vaping buzz. I guess I'm nicotine tolerant. Even with cigs I smoke the ones with highest nic and smallest filter. I'm nic junkie. :(

Good comparison with Whiskey-Beer. I knew vaping won't be exactly like smoking, but this comparison highlights the difference. I was expecting too much from 9mg/ml it would seem. :)

I think I'll have to go through withdrawal with help of vaping. Also I see quitting does require a great-deal of will power, but I'll keep on trying.

Thanks good fellas for your kind words and advices.
I have no doubt you'll be successful,, you have an insightful view into the condition of nicotine addiction..

MtL vaping wouldn't do it for me either... i had to go subohm and DtL, people like to mock em, but the kanger topbox 75w mini kit with the .5 coils made it work for me and i've quit... there was a couple of months of dual use before i found the combo that worked. keep at it and you'll get it.

If 9mg is all you can buy, I would say try to get a device that uses a lower resistance atomizer. Maybe even sub ohm.

I think those iCares are for light smokers or as a substitute to use when you want to smoke but can't.
Exactly right. Higher nic or sub Ohm.

He can't sub Ohm on an i care. Why i recommended higher nic.

Try a different device. I have an eleaf icare I use only for work stealth vaping.. Even doing dtl hits with 18 mg juice I don't get a buzz from. The icare either. However, I can get a great fix with a. 35 clapton and dtl hit on a hadaly and mechanical bottom feeder. That tiny coil in the icare just won't do it. It's a great little stealth device for a quick hit but it barely keeps the edge off

I was a 3+ pad smoker so I might not be the best subject. I was way past getting a "buzz" with any smoking.

Remember that smoke is tiny particles that enter your bloodstream within seconds. Vapor is larger droplets that you absorb thru mucous membranes. It just takes longer and you will not get a sudden jolt.

When you were smoking you would get (in your case) 10-15 highs and 10-15 lows each day. With vaping you are usually trying to keep on an even keel...no highs, no lows, no buzzes.

When I started vaping, morning was the hard time. I had to chain vape for 45 minutes or so to get over the craving. Sometimes I would get a bit woozy, but I can't say it was like the buzz I used to get when I was a college age smoker.

.

Mitesh Patel,

I started vaping about 6 months ago. My goal was to vape at the office so I would not have to make so many smoke-breaks during my working hours, I do recognize that originally I never intended to stop smoking.

But after a few days of being a dual user I thought it would be a good idea to give vaping a serious chance so I decided to stop buying cigarettes ... and haven't smoked since then

A wonderful thing about vaping is that it offers a lot of choices, so everyone can find the vaping style that suits him better (devices, attys, mtl/dl, juices, nic, etc).

I do realize that:

1) Vaping is not smoking. You won't get a fast kick from vaping, it comes gradually so I invite you to experiment with different juices and nic levels until you find the ones that work for you. It may take some time but be sure it will be fun.

2) It might seem to you than vaping is no as satisfactory as a cigarette... maybe. But look the bright side, you will feel better and that process of rediscovering long forgotten smells and flavours will be encouraging!

My family is happy because I don't smoke so I find that very encouraging. Also, nobody tells me that I smell as an ashtray!

3) Yes, I had / have cravings. I started at 6mg and went to 18mg, now I vape a steady 12mg juice and still find myself craving for a cigarette but it happens less often now. As I don't want to smoke again I make sure I have always a device and juice at hand, I won't give temptation a chance.

4) Because I wasn't as satisfied I decided to focus in the fun side of vaping: it can be a hobby! A never-ending quest to find a good atty, a learning voyage (you will find reviews to read and vlogs to watch) , a challenge to build coils, etc.

I'm glad you found vaping as I just recently did. I hope your quest will be fulfilling and that you will have success quitting analogs.

I beg your pardon for my poor English.

Good luck!

I second that! I have become obsessed with all things vaping! It is a hobby I am having a lot of fun learning. I PROMISE if you get the right amount of nicotine in the right device you will not want cigarettes. If I can quit, you can

Increase your nicotine. If that doesn't help try quiting cold turkey.
What concerns me the most is the complaint of not getting that buzz.
This usually means you are not addicted. Smoking addiction is not
about getting that buzz. Smoking addiction is when you no longer
get that buzz but can't quit because of the withdrawal symptoms when you do.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule.

I hope things work out for you.
Regards
Mike

I respectfully disagree, I almost think you don't need a lot of willpower...you need more nic and the right device.
I know that's just me but I smoked for 21 years and tried quitting SO many times... and here I am for the first time in my life knowing I will never go back to cigarettes because they taste gross to me now and I adore vaping! Just my take, but I feel strongly that once you get enough nic, it will be SO much easier [emoji4]

I have to disagree because I kid myself for years that I was cutting down while dual using the only thing I was doing was putting off smoking in the truck. It was total willpower to wake up one Saturday and say today is the day I will never buy a pack of smokes again. Worst most painful (physically) two weeks of my life. Lots of Nicotine to get through the withdrawals of the 6,999 other chemicals in killer sticks that are more addicting than nicotine!

Now remember I am not a doctor, medical professional or scientist but I know what I went through.

I guess it's different for us all.
