No, not spamming

Been vaping for some years now, build my own RDA and now quite happy doing my own mixes (recommended, as your sure what ingredients are used in your juice!)

This post, though, is about the congestion issues and I am having a lot lately. I don't think it's vaping as such, but something that, perhaps longer term, can have health concerns.

So, I would like to hear comments from you good folks. For my thoughts, here is what I think. Currently, I vape a dual kanthal build @ 45W, regular juice is 70/30 VG/PG, 3% nicotine, 8% strawberry (tfa) 6% kiwi (tfa).

There are a couple of reasons that could be the issue:
1) The PG or VG - decided to try 100% PG for a test, if that's not showing improvement, then it will be the VG. Though would need cutting with water or alcohol, to make it thinner
2) The other item is the build itself. Can either the kanthal be a long term issue for some people? Or could so much power and vape be the issue? A more complicated assessment

Any comments would be helpful I think

congestion issues..... Are you drinking enough water/liquid?

dual kanthal build @ 45W..... What ohm is the build?

3% nicotine..... Do you mean 3mg/ml?

70/30 VG/PG..... You currently use this, but what had you used before? How long have you used this newer high VG liquid? When I use high VG liquid, I get congestion and a heavy chest feeling. I can't use more than 30% VG.

The build is usually around 0.4-0.6 ohms. It isn't a virus, as I am bad at night and in the morning. During the day I am fine, just get that heavy feeling now and again.

I feel it may be the VG, but I like the smoke. I am also wondering if I am leaving the kanthal too long before burning off and re-wicking. I dunno, but this has been an issue for quite a while now. Really hoping it's not the vaping, which was why I started this post.

Is your RDA new? Did you clean it well before you started using it, to clean off the machine oil or whatever was used to make it? I've also gotten the heavy chest, unable to take a deep breath feeling when I didn't clean my new RTA well enough before using it. The problem resolved when I cleaned it more thoroughly.

My guess is your increase in vaping at lower ohms and higher power is drying you out more. Your sinus issues primarily your nasal area is due to the dehydration aspect of vaping. You will notice dry boogars and runny nose and such. Maybe mild congestion in the morning. I find that if i hydrate more..with pure water....not soda or tea or crap like that...those issues go away.... you are also using a sweeter juice which tends to be my culprit as well. Kind of like sugars in soda dehydrate you quicker the same can be said for ejuice.

There is a BAD virus/cold/sinus infection going around right now.

I've had my sinus infection for 3 weeks and it will not go away.

Ive tried eating a whole clove of garlic, drinking tea with ginger, honey, and clove inside, drinking enough moonshine to kill a horse, taking antibiotics, theraflu and airborne, along with mega doses of vitamin C.......you name it and its still here.

Its almost gone now but this is the worst Ive had in 45 years, bar none.

And yeah, I thought for a minute that it might be vape related but a talk with my doctor and my sons girlfriend who is an EMT, cleared that misconception up for me really quick.

A lot of people are suffering from the same symptoms this year.

Ive been vaping for going on 3 and half years now and the only affect Ive seen vaping have on sickness is me getting over colds and flu's a lot quicker than when I was smoking.

So its a damned good thing Im not smoking right now or this couldve killed me.

My daughter and I have had sinus issues for years. We also have allergies. Try a saline nasal spray like Ocean (I get the Walgreen's Saline Spray - it's cheaper). Something like a Neti pot might also help. We use the NeilMed bottle. You can get the saline packs to use with a Neti Pot or the NeilMed bottle fairly inexpensively. Be sure to use distilled water with a Neti Pot or anything similar so you don't get any of the junk that is in tap water. You will need a good supply of tissues on hand, though. Your nose will run like a faucet for a few minutes, but it does help quite a bit to clear out some of the gunk.

I ended up in the ER last year followed by a 7 day stay, seemed like I couldn't get any air or breath...first hospital confinement since I was born. I did determine the VG was definitely an issue. I had been at 50/50 and had to decrease to no more than 20% and I've been fine since.. only one conclusion for me, I chose breathing over clouds, hth!

Yeah, love the clouds...

I like the drying of the nasal reason. Though been high VG for over a year, so I think it's been an issue building rather than something triggering it. For example, for months now at night, my nose completely blocks, but not snotty, it's like it has just swelled over night and wakes me up as I cannot breath thru it.

To cure this, I just sit up in bed until the swellness goes completely, within minutes, and it's back to normal. Very weird. Doesn't happen every night, but several nights in a week.

Going to cut some PG based mix and see if that helps. Also will try the hydrating more suggestion.

I have never been sick (runny nose, coughing with high temperature etc.) from Vaping. Maybe your vaping juice that has gone bad. I would think quitting analogs would cause withdrawal effects, though you said you been vaping for a few years I wouldn't assume it would be that. The only effect Ive had was in my early days, I would vape high PG juices and got tightness of my chest. But once I went 60/50 high VG I was fine.

Yeah, this may be a personal thing. I know some are allergic to pg, but also some are that way to VG. I didn't have these issues on 50/50, I don't think.

I am not sick per se, no temp it's just the congestion, which does not happen as much during the day (when I am active?).

Perhaps I should add some menthol to my mix, not sure if this would help
