Vaping? Need advice.

Hello everybody. :).

Now I'm not an analog virgin. I have smoked a few with friend on casual occasions at the bar and at parties (via mooching.). One thing I can safely reassure you all is that I am NOT addicted and don't WANT to get addicted either (24 YO male by the way.). Recently, I happened to come across the infamous electronic cigarette.

So my question simply is, would it be a better idea to get a 0 nicotine strength electronic cigarette over what I am doing right now? Scanning over the Internet, I have come across White Cloud Disposable Flings. Most of you may know that it can come in 0 nicotine and a variety of incredible flavors. They also have a similar-cigarette-sized Fling Mini. Another positive effect is I could get my analog addicted friends to switch over too. Also, I don't plan on making this a hobby. Just an occasional disposable E-Cig I would keep in my wallet and pull out when the rare times comes I just "want to smoke". :).

I you don't want get addicted to vaping don't use nicotine. If you do that casual once in a while vape can easily become an addiction.

As for your smoking friends they are already addicted and they aren't likely to switch to vaping without that nicotine to satisfy their cravings. Cigarettes have several mood changing and addictive chemicals and it is hard to give them all up at once.

Yes, thanks guys.

But you seem to disregard the fact that I already smoke cigarettes. Every one or two weeks I have 3 cigarettes or so. I'm not addicted to the chemicals or the nicotine yet, but I don't want to take the chance, nor do I want to stop.

I'm just asking if it is a safer alternative to invest in a few disposable cigarettes with 0 nicotine (so I definitely don't get addicted), and keep it in my wallet for those special occasions. My wallet has a cigarette holder effectively.

I agree when it comes to vaping. I can start and stop smoking whenever I want. I will smoke one day and decide I don't like it anymore and the next time I hit a cig it taste like .... and a month later I can start smoking a pack a day because I want to. The point is, depending on your personality vaping itself can become addictive. I don't believe I'm addicted, as I ran out of the flavor I like and barely vaped for days. I'm very picky when it comes to how vaping feels and tastes, even after only a few weeks. BUT, a few hours ago when my 30ml bottle of Kringle's curse showed up I was certainly extremely happy and hopped right on out to the mailbox to grab it as the courier drove off.

If you start vaping casually I would suggest 0 nic, something strong, Halo has some good liquids, I don't know if some disposable fog .... will really feel like hitting a cig. Which, if you're drinking or with friends, puffing air may not satisfy the sense you're looking achieve. It may be best to post or google some 0 nic strong flavors and just get a decent little ecig with refillable carts. Personally, the Kringle's curse from halo is the only liquid I've tried with great throat hit and feeling overall, inhaling and exhaling at 18 12 and 6 mg it's satisfying. 18 choked the .... out of me for ten minutes until I liked it, after that bottle I got 12 and was immediately still satisfied. I believe 0 mg nic would still produce a good smoking feeling.

Use 0 nicotine. Now you won't get physically addicted to any chemicals that way. As for becoming a flavor addict or getting that had to mouth fixation thing going on, yeah that could happen on 0 nic. Not that that would be a bad thing, if you didn't mind but, it's your decision to make, just do yourself a favor and stick with 0 nic, no matter what you eventually decide to vape or how much you decide to vape.

@Mentholoverload - Thanks mate. Love your username. Curious on trying the vanilla and coffee flavors myself. Helpful response too. I agree, sometimes you want to and sometimes you don't. And the best part, with 0 nicotine, you can stop and start whenever you like. As for Halo, I heard it's one of the higher brand in the competition. A lot of vapor production too. Will look into that. But as for now, I want to try a few disposables from companies before I invest in a starter kit.

Yeah pretty much that. If the 0nic is not 'satisfying' to you then you're already addicted.

Good luck! Don't smoke.

I'm not keen on costs but I believe most disposables are around 15 bucks, you get an ecig and two cartridges. Let's say you buy one every month for 3 months and decide to get something quality. You've spent 45 dollars.

You can goto halo right now, spend 44.99 on a G6 starter kit, get two cigs, cartridges and a charger. Since you're making the decision to atleast smoke a quality vaping product, you can buy a liquid or two, a couple refillable cartridges, and a mini tank incase you get interested. Get free shipping on a 75 dollar order, have two batteries fully charged and cartridges ready. One in the car, one with you or whatever. You say you have a wallet or something with cig holder in it. Sounds odd unless you're female, not sure how that works, not sure how that would work with an ecig either since none are actually the size of a cig.

As for your comment on liquids, I've tried 3-4 companies. All terrible compared to Halo imo. Although, most flavors make me feel sick. Not blaming that on their juice, I can only smoke certain vapes. Weird, since I could smoke any cigarette and be fine with it.

@Mentholoverload - I see disposables all around worth $6. 3 a month is about $24. And deals let you get 10 disposables for $30. I feel as if those are really good deals. If I do find I want a starter kit, Halo is definitely high on the list of what I'll buy first so thanks.

As to the wallet thing. My wallet has a cigarette holder but considering you're saying these E-Cigs are larger, I guess that's out, but no harm keeping a couple around my house.

Also, with the infrequency of use you described, I would agree with your choice to start with disposables. They are generally the worst choice performatively and financially, but for someone who goes two weeks at a time between uses it could be just fine.

Also I can pretty much guarantee that if you invest in a quality starter kit, you will start vaping more.

@Traver - Haha, I don't plan on letting them take a drag on mine. Just showing it and then explaining it to my friends and possibly getting them to invest. :).

That is what I was referring to. If you have any expectation that those friends will quit smoking in favor of vaping it is far more likely to happen if they use an appropriate amount of nicotine. Something like 18mg for a half a pack a day smoker or 24mg for a one pack a day smoker.

You can also point out that they can still smoke if they feel like it. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Any reduction in cigarettes smoked is a good thing.
