I started vaping about a month ago, all was going great , analogs were becoming a part of my past history, and even found some likable juices. So went ahead got an Ego, loved the battery and feel, enjoying a vape was great. almost was not even missing the analogs.

But this last week analogs have become increasingly more abundant than the pat few weeks, as I came down with the seasonal cold, and well now can not enjoy vaping, it irritates my chest which is congested, so when I vape, it causes a huge violent coughing fit, where the analog does not.

I can vape, but of course flavor is well non exitent at this tage, but alo have to take "mini" puffs, then once I get the coughing fit over with, can vape normally, except for there is no flavor, which is why I constantly continue with the analogs. SO was just curious as to whether or not anyone has advice, basically,
I wanted to see, if :

A. If anyone else has experienced this?
B. If so what did you do?
C. Finally, is there a juice mix combo (PG/VG) mix, that is not as irritable while combating a cold?

Well, I'm not sure, but my guess is that the PG is helping you express the gunk in your lungs. The analogs are helping to keep it down. Just a guess.

I've heard that PG is a natural antibacterial, so maybe the crap in your chest doesn't like it.

All I know is that the analogs are definitely not helping your cold at all, even if it seems that way. I mean, no one wants to go into a coughing fit, but is there any way you can power through it and keep vaping even though it's uncomfortable and unenjoyable?

I started vaping at the end of my cold and I coughed up all sorts of nasty stuff...I also coughed pretty hard for about a week, but my cold started improving on day two of exclusively vaping and no analogs.

Try getting a 100 % VG menthol juice. The menthol might help ease the cough and the VG might be easier on your lungs.

I know this is gonna sound weird but it usually works for me and my boys when we have a really bad cough... Put some Vick's vaporub (or store brand) on the bottoms of your feet and then put socks on. I don't know how that works, but somehow it calms the cough. I do that at night when I have a cough that's keeping me awake and it does help.

I hope you feel better soon!

Great advice!! :)

Another idea is to get some peppermint oil (the real stuff...usually found at co-ops, health food stores, etc) and rub that liberally on your chest. Stick your head under your sheets and breathe it in. Peppermint is a natural expectorant and it works WONDERS. I used it during my cold and it helped a lot. Just be prepared to cough up gunk after about ten minutes of it on your chest and breathing it in.

I've heard people say that when you start vaping you'll begin to experience the same physical symptoms that you would when quitting smoking; coughing up lung cookies, feeling sort of 'off' and those sorts of things.

Tobacco smoke paralyses the cilia in your lungs so that your lungs aren't able to expel all the gunk that's been building up since you started smoking. When you switch to vaping, the cilia begin to work again and your lungs begin to expel all that lung junk. Every time you smoke an analog, you are helping your lungs to retain all the brown gunk that's built up in there.

The coughing can last for a month or two, but it'll go away eventually and your lungs will finally be clean.

How does Smoking Affect the Cilia?
