Hi,

I have bought empty 510 cartridges from The Electronic Cigarette Company. I am dripping on 6 Volts and after a day or so vaping I suddenly saw that the mouthpiece is missing some plastic. It appears that it has melted away. So IMHO the mouthpiece is too close to the Atomizer, gets too hot and melts. Anybody has the same experience and if it melts like this, that means I am vaping plastic which is not very good for your health... 8-o8-o8-o8-o

I'm vaping on a stock 501 battery and have had the same problem. My carts usually do really well for a week or two, then start to melt. I couldn't see the picture, but didn't really need to. On mine, there's like a crescent shape melted out of both long sides. I haven't had this problem in awhile, but before I figured out what was happening I ordered a few new atty's thinking that was the cause of the nasty burnt taste.

You have to line up the cart parallel to the coil tray. This is perpendicular to the bridge. Here is a good picture of the alignment in this post by eclypse:

In the beginning I had the same problem of melting the carts on the flat side. Never a problem since I began lining it up correctly.
