Wow, thank you! That's a great idea. Worry about shelf life vs. the mysterious "steep time" has been nagging me as one of the main arguments against getting into DIY liquid.

The "mysterious steep time" still has some merit. The way I interpret it has more to do with giving the individual flavors time to combine - kinda like a homemade soup or sauce that needs to let the flavors "meld". I recently made a blueberry and cream/custard flavor. Right off the bat, it was heavy blueberry. A few days later that has smoothed out, and the vanilla/custard/cream has become a little more pronounced.

I keep it really simple. I have a jug of 50/50 and a buzzload of flavors. I drop my concoction into a bottle and top with the 50/50. I'm not worried about ending with a 50/50 blend, so I don't measure exact PG/VG. That, and my S.O. vapes w/o nic. I can make flavors for both of us, but I have nic if I want.

I'd noticed that my purchased juices would start relatively clear and then darken as the nic aged. That, and I felt the flavor muted over time (although, the fact that I'd let juice sit that long ?????)

I find DIY extremely easy. The hardest part for me is to look at all the base flavors and try to figure out what would taste good together :)

No relapse yet. The idea of having to quit again keeps me from even going there. I know damn well that the 2nd (and 3rd/4th/5th/...) attempts at quitting a habit are much harder than the first.

I know this from relapsing on alcohol. First time I quit, I made it 4 years without a single drop. Then, quite intentionally, I relapsed. I was on and off the booze for a few years before I got myself back together into sober living.

I cannot stress enough to avoid that first relapse.

HOWEVER, once I've relapsed, there is nothing to do at that point but accept that relapse is now part of my recovery, and to use it to remember what it was like. There is no point beating myself up over it. I'm an alcoholic. I drank.

So if you relapse on cigs, just remember, you're addicted to tobacco, and so you smoked. It's not your fault, you have the disease of addiction and picking up that smoke again is just another step in your journey.

I was at an AA meeting once, and a woman got up and said that if she could give me my sobriety, she wouldn't do it. At first I was shocked...why not? Because she wouldn't dare deprive me of the journey...MY journey in recovery. It can be a rough road, but every step, no matter how much it sucks at the time, is a necessary part of the process.

The main problem we face as addicts is a lack of power. Your journey of recovery from addiction is a process of regaining that power. And nothing in your life will compare to the feeling of taking that power back, and feeling it deep in your soul...

vape on, brothers and sisters!!

We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word serenity.
And we will know peace."

This time around I bought banana nut bread from Bulk ejuice both @24mg one was 50/50 and the other was 70PG/30VG even when I got it the stuff was almost black( can't see though it)...I messed up and let it breath to long... it had a strong chemical smell almost stingy if that makes sense...it has lost most of it's taste and smell now....it's for this reason I'm really thinking about making my own

I tried vaping for the first time in 2009 with a cigalike. That didn't really work for me, so I went back to smoking. Tried again in 2010 with another cigalike and had another abysmal failure. In February 2011 I got an eGo kit (they were recently released back then) and 3 days later had my last cigarette. I've been vaping on various devices ever since and I can't imagine myself ever going back to inhaling burning tobacco leaves. In fact, a couple years ago I tried a few drags from a cigarette at a party and did not enjoy it at all.

Only once, and I wouldnt really call it a relapse, more of a curiosity.. Went out to a bar with the roommate and a friend a couple weeks ago to see another friends band.. Said screw it and bummed a menthol off my friend just to see what it was like after vaping for almost 3 months.. Meh, didnt even finish it, put it out and pulled my MVP out of my pocket heh. Buddy was mad I wasted one of his smokes hahahahaha..

Cool part, there were quite a few vapers at the bar.. Never thought I would see that in a million years.. I didnt feel like 'that guy' outside in the smoking area like I thought I would.. I actually looked 'pro' next to all the kids with their eGo's hehe..

Relapse? hmm, did light up a smoke for a comparison like a month ago, draw was to tight, kept getting dry/burn hits, and the flavor really sucked. And the charge only lasted for one session. Very disappointing, and dangerous, sucker kept burning even when no button was pushed, or draw being taken. Was going to take it back to the B&M, and register a complaint. :D

Finding the right vape gear is instrumental in not smoking again. Just no way a burning tobacco product can compete with any of me vape gear, it be like pulling the navi/surround sound out of me CR-Z and putting in 8 track stereo, sure I can do it, but why would I want to????

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!

Lol, ho man, I lol'd so hard my wife is steering at me like I was some crazy guy.

On topic, so far no relapses, from the first day I started vaping, every nicotin craving I only think about grabbing my PV. ( started with a e-vic and a nautilus mini)
