Very definitely. I have a pair of Magnetos I use as 'beaters', part ghetto-rubberised with bicycle inner tube, so I carry them around a lot. I have a minor obsession with trying to spin the locking ring in one smooth movement, just like this:

It only really works when the mod is horizontal. If I screw a Genisis on one one day, I'm going to make a horrible mess.
Also I have a few battery related 'superstitions', like leaving them to stand for 1/2 hour going on or off the charger. I suspect that contributes to safety, but I have no idea by how much, and no particular reason to think 1/2 hour is the magic number.
