The shortness of breath and or heavy lung feeling can be caused by too high a VG content. Just sayin. :)

Or too high PG content.

Or too high nic.

Or too low nic.

Or too much power/high vapor volumes.

Or too restricted air flow.

Or a flavor you react to.

Between myself and those I've helped switch, I've seen all of the above.

Just sayin. [emoji14]

OP; My dad went through the same thing. The PITA sold and gave away his entire collection (that I bought personally and requested back if he ever quit) when he got where you're at.

The day after the last piece was gone he begged me for another entire setup (on my dime) including juice, batteries, charger... the whole gambit.

I made him suffer for a week or two so he'd learn a lesson. Didn't work. That old dog's done learning new tricks. [emoji38]

Once I gave him the new setup, hi did hit on it a couple times. Then he put it in a place he felt comfortable knowing just that it was there in case.

That was enough for him.

Reminds me of smoking.

When you realize you're out of smokes, your urge to smoke suddenly triples and anxiety goes through the roof.

The habit is probably why I will never stop vaping. I cannot just sit still and not do anything. I will gain weight and that brings on a whole new set of health problems.

You can train yourself to Not Inhale. Just fill the mouth with vapor and blow it out. That way the vapor does not even go into the lungs.

Whatever you decide, good luck! :)

I quit inhaling vapor about 2 years ago. I just let the vapor hit the back of my throat and then exhale. One big bonus for me is that I find that the vapor has a lot more flavour when I don't inhale.

Yup. Agreed. My end goal was to quit. I was 0 nic for a couple of months this summer. I'd forget about my vape but even with more exercise at work than I've gotten in years in 100*+ conditions, I packed on 20 pounds. I'm now back on +-2mg and, after a month, have dropped 11 pounds without trying. I'd rather pay $25 extra per month on my insurance than risk gaining back the 200 lbs I lost a few years ago.

Wow, guys thanks a lot for all the feedback and commentary. It's been awesome to hear others thoughts on this and glad to know there are others that thinking about doing the same.

I wanted to follow up with how I'm doing. I can't believe it, but over the past 5 days, it has gotten SOOO MUCH EASIER to sit in front of my computer. Seriously, I was very scared that sitting in front of my computer without my PV would forever suck. Where I would consistently crave a vape. But over the past 5 days, that ritual habit is, I'm not going to say gone? But has become A LOT easier to ignore. And from what I've heard from others, it will just get easier from here .. I hope, but just keeping it one day at time and I'm very grateful that my ritual cravings are almost gone.

That being said, there have been draw backs. I've gained 15 pounds in the past two months. The weight gain really started when I started dropping my nicotine as I was using food as a replacement ... I knew it was coming and even though I'm a little ...... at myself, it was a conscious decision because I really really want to quit vaping.
Now, hopefully before long, not vaping will be completely normal and then I will start tackling my weight. One thing at a time.

Again, thanks all of the feedback :)

You better believe I just hooked up on two of those bad boys!

I quit using nicotine almost 9 months ago.
With the Fidget Widget, I might even be able to stop vaping.

Not sure I want to, but if I did want to...

I didn't quit exactly. I took a 2 week vacation to Canada and didn't take my setup. I'm on 4mg. I didn't have withdrawals from nicotine or anything like that. But I struggled with not always having my Reo in my hand or going somewhere and thinking I left it on a shelf or something when looking at something. Not having it with me was harder than not using it.

try 0 nic and see if it "relieves" the need to vape.... if not, then you may still be desiring nic. Ever consider doing the drop of juice on the finger and licking it process??? its not considered vaping but it will supply the nic you may be desiring... atart with a tiny drop at first, too much will make you feel queezy.. ;)

I'm in agreement, the habitual motions are why I'll never stop. Plus its the part I like. I have dropped to about 6 mg from 24mg over the course of 3 years and don't feel any nic withdrawals when I am away from vaping for a while but I miss having something in my hands.

but I can read it as it was typed... ( your signature) being dyslexic has its advantages ;)

but it can cause you to fail Calculus :)

I'm 4 days without a vape after spending about 2 weeks of vaping 0 nic. I think it's safe to say that I don't have nicotine in my system anymore, but I'm definitely having ritual withdrawal

Going to 0% nic definitely helped me. I tested this by vaping some 3mg and 6mg and I started to have the WORST cravings I had in 5 years, almost bad enough that I wanted to start smoking again

So, I went back on 0% ........and maybe you need to stay there for longer than 2 weeks.

Actually smoking AND vaping were behavorial for me, as I never had a lot of trouble going "cold turkey" when I quit smoking (before vaping, I had been quit for 5 years and then started again.)

Candy canes or something is better than pretzel sticks, find something less caloric, OR, beat the cravings by putting on shoes and walking. You will lose weight and be in better shape.

My vape gear sits in another room on kitchen counter, and I just walk over there when I want to vape. Behavioral stuff is as bad as physical addiction stuff sometimes.

If you need a mind tweak, read allen Carr's The Easy Way to Quit Smoking. It's not filled with scare tactics or anything, it sort of just conditions your psychology toward a certain level of behavioral freedom. It can be used for dieting, vaping, whatever you want to use it for. :) 5 stars at Amazon.com........people very successful using that book for decades now.

I go on all my errands now, and town is 30 miles away, so I am gone for usually 5 hours. I do not take vape gear with me anymore. I just like to vape on my porch outside, in afternoon, watching sunsets n' stuff.

You directed a statement at me that was rude so do not tell me to take a chill pill since weeks after my comment to someone else you decide to say this to me? And if you think just stating you need to read more carefully is rude maybe you should look at your statement to me. If you did not quote me I would never have addressed you.

I've never tried to stop vaping, but I'm sure if I did wake up tomorrow and decide I didn't wish to vape anymore I would have ritual withdrawal because I do enjoy vaping a lot. I lost my addiction to nicotine over 5 years ago now so at least I wouldn't have to deal with nicotine withdrawal. ;) Good luck with your attempt to stop vaping if that's what you wish to do. :) There may be someone, but I'm not aware of anyone, that has stopped vaping and still regularly visits this forum. There are some people that attempted to kick vaping that came back to vaping after a while so maybe some of them will see this thread.

I just quit after 4 years. Went to my garage and got a hammer and smashed 5 times and said goodbye. Terrible headaches vaping after workout sent me to ER once. Constant anxiety even with 6 mg nicotine. I loved the vaping but I am doing this because of anxiety and headaches and baby due in march.
It's been a week now and have insomnia for a week and vivid dreams.
    Good luck
