On the edge of insanity..
Hi. I have started vaping using an EgoC but can't seem to get away from smoking too. I do smoke much less now. I keep re-setting my quit date... I'll quit smoking completely ,When I get used to doing it ... When I get a juice I actually really like ...or maybe I'll miraculously start disliking the taste of cigarettes. I've been feeling like a failure for the last two weeks. Need some encouragement.

Hello Juno,

Welcome to the forum! I too started out with an eGo C...well actually the Blu (but that was a disaster!) I was a 1 to 2 PPD smoker and I just made myself a promise that I wouldn't buy another PV untill I quit. I said that if I could quit for a week then I would reward myself with the 3VO/EVO as my next device. After a week rolled by and I didn't have another analog I made my purchase! I honestly fight it everyday. It's hard and I don't think the cravings will go away anytime soon. I just keep telling myself that this is the right thing to do for myself and my daughter. She is ultimately what is keeping me from smoking! I finally figured out that after 25 years of smoking and numerous times of trying to quit with all the various pills, patches, gums, and so on that I really just enjoyed smoking and didn't want to quit.... That is ultimately why I always failed in quitting. At least with vaping I am getting close to that same sensation.

Don't give up and good luck! Wishing you all the best.

Chad

I have smoked for over 40 years. I've tried everything in the past....patches, gum, wellbutrin, hypnosis, etc.....nothing ever worked for me. I just like smoking too much, and couldn't give it up. My housemate has copd and asthma, and would fall on the floor flailing like a cockroach around smoke...lol......which means I sat outside in the Michigan winter, freezing my .... off to smoke. Not exactly sure what prompted me to try ecigs....but I did. I initially did the google search, and came up with all the phony review sites. Checked out V2, South Beach, Greensmoke, etc....even talked to the guy selling kits at the mall kiosk. Fortunately, I discovered ECF before I spent any money. After a lot of reading...ordered a KGO kit from Dark City Vapors...after harassing poor Bill with a zillion questions.

Anyway..got the kit.....fired it up and took about 3 drags....looked at my housemate, and said "I can do this". I'm now 17 days without "real cigs"....even have a pack in my car, but haven't touched it. Five of my friends have ordered kits...figuring if it works for me, it will work for anyone...lol.

I initially thought all the funky flavors were weird, and thought I would stick with the tobacco flavors. Now....I'm really enjoying peanut butter chocolate, strawberry lemonade, white chocolate cappucino, and have 7 more flavors due to arrive tomorrow. I do like RY4 a lot.....but definitely leaning toward the other flavors.

Just for fun....I downloaded an app from the iTunes store to my iPhone called My Last Cigarette. It keeps track of how long you have not smoked, and monitors several health issues. I'm a Behavior Consultant...so totally enjoy the constant reinforcement of checking my status every few hours.

I work in the medical field and that helped me immensely with not wanting to smoke. Watching my uncle dying keeps me from wanting to smoke again or become a welder. It's all personal and what works/motivates you. I don't stink anymore and that was a big plus even though I didn't know how badly I must have smelled to begin with!

Honestly i had the same problem a few years ago it wasnt until my boyfriend forbid me from buying cigs and i had a tooth removed forcing me not to suck for a day or two that i realized i could still get the nicotine from the ecig and not suck. after 2 days i was done for and have only had tobacco for a short time during an ecig down time due to hardware failure and shipping times 3 days and they were nasty days.

I was anywhere from a half a pack to a pack a day smoker i had to be forced only to smoke ecigs and after about a week my body regulated my taste buds came back and reg cig just were horrible. So maybe thats an option dont allow your self to buy them and for atleast a week stay away from smoking environments and you might be able to switch over. when you want a cig just pick up the ecig and puff till the nicotine fills your need.

Oh and FYI i owned an ecig for over a year before i could take the final plung and fully stop.

I have to agree with the many posts encouraging you to be at peace with what you want/crave. E-cigs will provide what you're looking for more and more and it satisfies that hand/mouth thing that has become second nature over years of smoking. One day you may just decide you've had enough with the smoke and prefer to vape. Meanwhile, if you want to smoke, do it.

well i have to share my first experience with e-cigs with you for sure

i used to smoke around 60 to 90 cigs a day ...
when i started on my green smoke kit i never went back , before one week ended i hated the smell of normal cigs.
i must say after finding this forum green smoke is way to expensive for what you get and you only get throw away cartridges
starters kit was 160 pounds i think

waiting for a the VE riva 1100 deluxe kit for 35 pounds
+ a vivi nova 2.5

Get some WTA juice...it's the only thing that got me completely off cigarettes. I vaped and smoked for a couple of months...once I got some WTA, I completely quit cigarettes and haven't even wanted one...granted, it's only been a week since quitting completely and the urge may return but so far, so good.
