and for reasons well known on this board, I proceeded to panic about my ill informed decision and decided to go ahead and order the Ego-T last night. Obviously I still haven't received Blu yet, although it is scheduled to arrive in only 2 days from now (not bad for shipping from them apparently). In the past few days I debated hard about just sending it back without even opening the box when it arrives, to ensure I get a 100% refund, but in the end, especially since this will be the first ecig I will get my hands on and will be excited to try, I have decided to just keep the Blu and get whatever use I can out of it. I think having a mini-style around can be advantageous from time to time regardless of overall performance.

Now I've done some more reading, and I am afraid the eGo-T, which should be my salvation, might be a big disappointment in the long-term because of these wick problems I am now seeing tons about.

My question for you vaping professionals are thus:

1.) What are all the cartomizers or atomizers/cartridge combinations that will work with the eGo-T battery (manual eGo-T 650mAh battery with 5 click shut off :p). I think, although I am not certain, that the eGo cartomizers and atomizers/cartridges will work, but I do not know which others might work also, aesthetically pleasing or not. For instance it would be nice to know if the Riva 510 atomizers & cones worked perfectly with the eGo-T battery, especially since it seems it might be aesthetically pleasing, but a regular 510 might work also, and might work out cheaper for these replacement parts.

2.) Which of these cartomizers or atomizers/cartridge options would be the best to use with the eGo-T battery if things turn sour with the tank atomizer.

Truly, I appreciate everything I have learned so far, and thanks in advance for any future advice.

Thanks poemmimi99. I think I'll like the Blu. I'm going in knowing full well it's limitations, and I'll be particularly careful about charging to minimize problems. I have seen with the old blu there were quite a few options for atomizers/cartomizers besides Blu's. I am hoping the same is true for this new generation. Who know's, I might even find myself interchanging parts between the eGo-T and Blu!

On to the eGo-T, another thought crossed my mind after viewing a video on youtube about dripping with 510 atty on a eGo battery. I think, although again I am not sure, this should work with the eGo-T battery. If so, could anyone recommend the best atomizer/drip tip combo to use if I go drip tip instead of cartridge? LR? Is there a cone separate from the 510 atty (which one???) that tapers down to the drip tip, or is that one unit?

Sorry if a lot of this has already been beaten to death.

TIA

I also purchased the Blu, and also thought that my world of vaping would end after reading most of the comments.
IMO the Blu is a good starter, and super easy to get used to. Many people have said that I should send it back in, but it is pretty cool for traveling, so im gunna keep it.
Personally I am waiting on an eGo to show up in the mail, and get ready for real vaping. Good luck!

The ego batteries are 510, so pretty much everything 510 will work with them. Cones...not sure about riva cones...I'm sure others will chime in who know....others?...

Excellent. This is what I have been seeing, but just not sure exactly how aesthetically pleasing this might be also, although all options would be nice to know. Any voltage issues even though they fit?

Don't sell either short. I don't know about the blu but you just might like it. As for the ego-t. I have a regular ego and the t system and at first i wasn't fond of it but now I like it a lot. You never know until you try it and if you don't like it, there are lots of other options for the ego batteries.

Indeed, and I'm thinking both will provide good results, especially for noob like myself with nothing but nasty analogs to compare to. Only thing I want to protect myself from is both Blu and eGo-T failing miserably once I start vaping, then have to wait for new mail order components to arrive. I want to never turn back to analogs once I start, so covering all bases is a good start.

Your path is very common. I too regret starting with a Blu but not entirely. The day my Blu arrived, I stopped smoking after 30 years of a pack a day. That was not my plan. My plan was to simply try e-cigs and see if I could at least reduce my smoking. Your goals may be different. Your results may vary. But it didn't take long to realize the Blu was not a good long-term solution.

Be aware that you can return a partially used Blu for a partial refund. Be sure to follow their refund instructions carefully.

As for your question regarding eGo-T cartos/attys, the options are many. These pages are alive with an overwhelming amount of knowledge and suggestions. The operative word being overwhelming.

In my experience, yes it is important to have a backup if the tank system misbehaves. Many folks here report no problems at all. Others tell a different story. As a relative newbie, I am hesitant to suggest a specific supplier. But I will tell you that the eGo Mega Cartomizer has come to my rescue on a few occasions when the tank system wasn't working properly. Send me a private message if you want specific links.

I had a Blu for a year and I hate to tell you it hasn't been upgraded (they have cartomizers now and that is the only upgrade) the PCC you will get is the SAME one from a over a year ago (or whenever Blu started) the Blu is an L88B same exact thing as another company volcanoecigs. The L88B PCC has been upgraded TWICE and Blu hasn't kept up. I was going to get another Blu but the kit is now more expensive and you get less than what I got over a year ago. I have an ego now (not T) and it is a whole different beast. I never was able to kick analogs with the Blu. Try BOGE 510 cartos (what I use) for your ego. But only if you don't like the tank system. Or grab a few as a back up. They are cheap and would be good for trying new juice (some juices will taint your tanks and you can't get the flavor out no matter what so cartos to sample and use the tank when u find one you like)

Blu works for some but few.
The juice in the blu cartos is kinda gross.

Ego is the way to go. Try puresmoker for BOGE 510 cartos and juice. I love their juice and it's not super pricey and they have cheap BOGE 510 ($1.49 each) cartos and flat rate shipping ($5) they are the only place I intend to ever shop. I love the customer service there!
Good Luck and welcome to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping

Like she said, Blu actually worked for me to quit smoking altogether. But the small choice in flavor will make you switch fairly quickly. And I second the choice in puresmoker. That is where I purchased my juice.

I've been vaping for almost a year now, and my preferred method is dripping with a LR 510 atomizer. It may seem like a nuisance carrying a bottle around at first, but you get used to it. I treat it as my lighter :) Riva and ego Cones use the same thread and they just slide over the atomizer. You can pick up a 5 pack of atomizers for 20 bucks @ liberty flights.

Good idea to make sure you have backups.. I primarily use a 510LR atty on my "eGo"(read off branded) batts with a cone adaptor. Just ordered a tank system to see if it fits my useage style. I love to drip at home, but at work I dont have time to crack out the bottle etc so im stuck using carts. Im not a huge fan of the cartomizers either. The only advice which i can say for certain is to have juice & parts available period. Nothing quite like having one batt that works and sixteen drops left to make you go out and drive around looking for the mailman.....I wanted to quit analogs for some time and just stumbled onto ecigs, since my first draw on that little battery powered atty I have found My replacement for a truly unhealthy addiction. Good luck, Happy Vaping.

As far as voltage, you one one that just says 510 or LR (low resistance). You probably won't like the high resistance (HR, or sometimes I've seen HV) as those are designed more for those vaping with higher, or variable, voltage devices.

If the actual ohms are listed, anything around 1.5 is LR, 2.5 is standard, over 3 is high.

Thank you all!

Following the advice of Kitty0612 and G-webb, I just purchased through puresmoker.com:
5 Boge 510 Cartos,
1 Joye 510 Atomizer,
1 Blue Transparent Dip Tip,
and 2 Joye eGo Atomizer Cones,
as well as a medium strength Tropical Sample Pack (42 ML total) to add to the 30 ML VG Cherry I ordered through Liberty Flights (when I ordered the eGo-T kit)!

God this sport is getting expensive quick, although I'm sure others have dropped more coin at once than this!

I've got more than enough bases covered for now, so I can sleep like a baby, although I'll be anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new devices!

Glad to hear it. I know about the expensiveness but you can save money in the long run, unless you are like me and get new juices to try every time I get money lol. I'm halfway thru ordering all of PS's juice!

But at least it is healthier! And can you really put a price on that?

Could be worse you know. Chantix is $300 and it's like only effective 7% at 3 months and 2% at a year meaning only 2% of people on it are smoke free after a year (I am not sure if that 2% includes the people going insane and killing others and themselves.)
There is a pic that sums it up: guy with a cig in his mouth and a revolver to his head. Caption reads: This is my last cigarette Thanks Chantix"

Good luck and welcome to ECF

Blu came in today. First thing I noticed when I held both packages of cartos, one Magnificent Menthol and the other Cherry Crush, was how strongly both smelt of coffee. I decided to open up the package of Magnificent Menthol cartos, grabbed one and took a good whiff and WOW does it smell like they sent me Java Jolt instead. The package is labeled Magnificent Menthol, and the sticker over the mouthpiece hole is a little green leaf, but the barrels of the cartos are labeled with an H and little leafs, instead of MM.

Tried vaping the thing out of the box, which I see no reason why I should not be able to do if there is even on a quarter charge to the battery. Good god was it horrible. Tasted like burnt coffee and hit my throat harder than a regular cigarette, however there was little to no vapor. I took many draws up to the point it started a slow blink indicating it was cutting me off, but never during this time did vapor production increase to an appreciable point. Throughout the nasty taste and hard hit if I inhaled remained the same. I am currently charging a battery through the USB adapter to see if that at least makes a difference in terms of vapor production. The burnt coffee taste will probably be the same. Definitely not menthol, as the package stated. Haven't cracked open the Cherry Crush to see if they got that one right.

Alright after giving it a charge yesterday, I vaped and vaped some delicious cherry crush with fantastic results. I am in love. No more stink of cigarettes on me just after having one, so far the most positive result.

Interestingly, I do not get that head rush if I suck down a cigarette, which is probably because there is carbon monoxide to compete with oxygen.
