Hi all,
Me and my GF started vaping 4 days ago from (me) 10 marlboros a day and (her) 20 a day, to just vaping. We smoked for like 20 years.
I had tried like 5 or 6 times, one of those cheap 10$ e-cigs from china as a substitute for not smoking for some hours and it worked fine, I has vaping on it like 10+ times an hour or something and was satisfied during that time.

So, 4 days ago I decided to get something more "serious". A Janty ego VV and an iClear 16 together with some Halo Torque56 18MG/ML.

The thing is we took our first puff (we always used it a minimum voltage) and didn't feel like smoking for like HOURS... And its been like that for 4 days, sometimes i take like maximum 3 puffs in a row, but then I don´t feel like it for an hour or more. So, 4 days ago I filled up the iClear with 1.6ml of juice and after 4 days it still looks like this (1,0ml):

You all must be thinking now that I should feel happy about the fact that we vapped this little, but somehow we are satisfied in terms of nicotine, but the habit of smoking is not present anymore and this feels kind of wired. We think more and more about grabbing a cigarette and just smoke.

So basically I would need some advice on what the problem here is. Is the juice taste itself to strong, or the 18MG/ML? Was the double-coil a bad idea because it burns too much fluid and makes it too strong? Is this a phase for our body to adapt to the missing chemicals in analogs so the whole vaping experience feels wired at the beginning? Should we maybe have some analogs during the first days, for our organism to adapt?

Thanks for any help guys, I really want to get on with this :)

And by the way... this is a really nice forum!! Learned a lot here.

Well first off, to answer your question about adapting, yes there are going to be some adjustments your body will have to get used to, escpecially the fact your brain chemistry and such will have to adapt to only the nicotine and not the rest of the garbage in cig smoke. The iClear16 is a very nice clearo, even for a dual coil. You half a pack a day smoker, she a full pack a day smoker, your nicotine requirements are different from each other. She I would suggest 14, 16, 18, maybe 24 mg would work for her, lower the nic content the more she would have to vape, and yes, when you start hitting 18mg throat hit and kick start getting pretty dominant. For you, your nic level should be around 12mg to satisfy you, don't worry if you both chain vape, not going to hurt you that much to do so, just remember, PG and VG are dehumicants, so drink lots and lots of water, take a couple puffs, start feeling a little cotton mouthed, take a drink, the PG and VG bonded to the moisture to produce that vapor you just exhaled ;). Also, while you are in the initial couple weeks of transition, don't beat yourself up if you feel after eating or just getting up or before bed even with vaping you need a cig and actually do smoke 1, 1/2, or 1/3 a cig, think about the positive, how many "Analog" breaks did you actually avoid the rest of the day =).

Smoking is just much as mental as physical. If you have needing the nic from a smoke under control from what it sounds like. Then you need to re train your mind that its not missing you holding that cigarette. What I did and it may sound dumb but it worked for me.I would hold a cigarette in my hand while I vaped. Then I'm guessing after a while of doing that.My mind trained its self to know that I was holding something else in my hand that gave me the nic I craved and it wasen't a cigarette. So after a while of doing that,I no longer missed the need of holding that cigarette in my hand.I hope I'm wording this right so you can make sense of it.Your mind for so long has got use to you holding that cigarette.Breaking that trait will help you so much. That's what I had the hardest time doing when I started to vape.I hope this may help you.Good luck and I wish you the best.

:) There isn't a problem.

I went through the same psychological / habitual aspect of not smoking analogs. It was weird at first, but now I just giggle at myself if I absentmindedly think about grabbing a smoke. That's gonna happen to you regardless of how much you vape or what nic level you're vaping.

Just make sure you always have your VP handy. If the urge for an analog hits, vape more.

You will adjust!

edit: misread a little. I agree about trying out some lower level nic in an effort to vape more if you need to.

I agree with most of the replies to your thread.
During the my 115 days of being smoke free I've had about 2 dozen thoughts about lighting up. I then just hit on my vape a few times and I'll be Totaly satisfied.
Similar to other suggestions, drop the NIC level down. 1/2 pack a day, I'd suggest 6mg. And 12mg for your wife.
Maybe try a flavor as well.
I love my Expresso and Vanilla mixes in an Evod

Great goin,
VAPE ON

Well, I was thinking of coming back tomorrow for some answers... But hey, you guys are fast!!

Thanks for all your feedback, I guess if I feel the need to have an analog, I should go for it then, or for half, or just 2 or 3 puffs..

For the last year or so, i managed to not smoking analogs until 7PM or something, that was the time I got usually out of the gym, so i didn't smoke at all during the day, but then at "night" I smoked around 10 (or more when going out)
Now I just feel like i could vape a bit during all day cause its so easy, but I'm trying to keep the same "schedule" to keep the nicotine on the same levels during the day I had in the last year.

In 2 weeks or so my GF will get her own e-cig and then it will be easier for us to find the perfect setup for each one of us individually, and having our own so we can vape when we want.

The thing with the water is making sense, my mouth is dry and that's maybe why we don't vape more although we feel like it, it becomes unpleasant. I have to drink more. Also, I get a wired taste on my tongue if vaping 3 or more times one after each other. Could this have to do with the Halo liquid, or is it always like this?
I ordered the halo juice and a red bull one with the first order, because that's the flavor I had on my cheep e-cig and I liked the taste. When this one is empty, can i just put the red bull one over the Halo Torque56 (red bull is also 18MG/ML) or should I clean it first?

Thanks again for all your help!!

I'd suggest more water, and possibly a lower level of nicotine, but start with drinking more and see if that helps you out. I smoked maybe 3-5 cigs in a day tops and I can sit here and chain-vape 18mg without even noticing, of course I have a tolerance for nicotine so that may not be true of others. Still, the key is keeping hydrated, if you're still not wanting to vape because you've gotten your fix, drop from 18mg to 12 and see where you're at.

Red Bull is a potential tank killer juice from what I remember, it may depend on where you ordered it from, but I'd be very, very careful pouring that into a polycarb tank, which I'm pretty sure the iClear is. You'd want to use cartomizers or a Pyrex tank like the Protank or Davide Glassomizer for that if at all possible. Of course, saying that, I've been vaping maybe five different 'known' tank killer juices in an Evod and Vivi Nova and never had a single leak, crack, or clouding of plastic at any point, so your mileage may vary.

Personally, I would avoid the analogs all together, but any effort to reduce smoking is a good thing. It took me 3 months to stop smoking completely after a 37yr habit. The hardest thing i've ever done in my life. I never knew what it was like to not have a pack of smokes and a lighter with me. Now i always have my pv, extra battery, and a small bottle of juice. Breaking the phycological aspect of the habit was extremely difficult. I also smoked and vaped at the same time but it wasn't a plan to help me quit but more of a crutch because i still needed the cig. Once i stopped having the cigs completely i used my 24mg juice and vaped all the time. Now I'm vaping 18mg juice and still vape all the time but i haven't had an analog since March 6th of this year.

Many of the other posts have great info and techniques to help keep you off the analogs. I'm guessing from your one response back to everyone what you really were looking to do was to find a way to keep smoking even if its just a half a cig and only after 7pm. I often found little justifications to allow me to keep smoking. I'd bum a smoke so i'd have to buy a pack to replace what i borrowed then would have something to smoke. Didn't want to waste all the money i just spent on buying a pack so of coarse i had to smoke them. Then i would smoke the pack and the next day do the same thing all over again. I think it's called mental .........ion. I finally get real with myself and forced myself to say no and not smoke that first cig. After about a week i stopped wanting them altogether and haven't wanted an analog since.

Good luck in you efforts. You're on the right track.

Hi guys, we are keeping it up. :)

The secret here is, I think, to vape until you don't feel like smoking. Also the thing of vaping more often with lower nicotine could help a lot. Ordered the same juice with 6 instead of 18, and will mix then 50/50 as soon as it arrives.

The thing of vaping more with the 18 juice I have tastes bad on my throat after some 3 consecutive puffs, could this be the juice that i'm using, or is it because its to strong?

This is very subjective.

Our bodies have a way of telling us things, in ways we don't always understand. I would guess that you're reacting to the high level of nicotine.

On the other hand, maybe it's your tank wicks running dry, and leaving a burnt taste.
