Vaping with Elegance - Advice Needed

The Ego One is a standard battery/clearomizer setup... no cartos here. It can use pretty much any juice. It's a completely non regulated system, though. No voltage or wattage adjusting. Might not be the best first starter kit, though. Even with the 1.2 ohm coils, it produces REALLY warm vapor. An Ego One battery with a Nautilus Mini might serve her better and is a really slick looking setup. If she wants a smaller profile more akin to a cigarette, consider a nicer cigalike kit like the Eroll-C, the Blu Plus I mentioned, or any host of others that use tanks, not cartos. The Blu Plus kit is about as simple and hassle free as it gets and has a charging case the size of a pack of smokes that'll charge the batteries and last all day, though the refill tanks cost just as much as a pack of cigarettes at $5 each. Not VV or VW, but most folks don't actually need those features.

By "elegant," I presume that your friend wants something sleek and nonintrusive. Yes? If so, then consider a Joye ECOM-C Twist 650mAh with either an Aspire K1 - EGO Glassomizer BVC or an Aspire ET-S Glass - EGO Clearomizer BVC.

The iStick 50w may not be the smallest / lightest, but has clean, simple lines and a lot of battery reserve. Something like that might dampen the desire to upgrade after a short while. ...and relatively inexpensive.

To me, the small iSticks are pretty elegant. My go to recommendation for people who want compact is the eRoll, but if she wants VV, I would recommend any of the ego twist/spinner/winder batteries or the iTaste VV.

The eGrip by joyetech is small, stylish and VW up to 20w with adjustable airflow. I tried one with a stock coil in a local shop. Been thinking about getting one since. Vapor and taste were pretty impressive and it felt comfy and solid in hand. It is heavier than i expected.
Also, as previously stated - if she's moving off cigs, get two rigs. vapenw.com has a couple of decent starter kits on their clearance page right now.

Make sure you look at the iTaste VV and not the MVP. The VV is like an ego battery, only squared off edges.

But the istick is a lot smaller than you think, I was shocked when I got my iStick 30W. It's short and not very wide. I'm a girl and the whole thing disappears in my hand.

I was thinking iTaste vv v.4

The eRoll was a fabulous device in it's time... respect to the eRoll. Trouble is, those tanks... (cartridges, really = too small)... and those atomizers... talk about expensive running costs.

I met a vaper who had never looked past his local retailer (Joyetech) and was buying 4-5 Joyetech atomizers a week to use on 2 e-cigs. He was a non-stop vaper, mind you. Anyway, mustn't grumble... he got off 50 smokes a day with Joyetech eGo-T system.

I gave him a clone Kayfun on an old Lavatube. Running costs fixed up!

The itaste VV V3 is actually a very elegant mod, not sure what you don't like about the form factor? My wife loves it, my daughter loved it but it didn't last long enough for her (she stole my other MVP instead, and uses that constantly) It might be a bit long, but with an appropriate head, it's one sexy mod! And, although there are tons of round batteries, there's nothing else with the shape of a VV V3 out there (and you can get wraps for it, too....)

Plus, it doesn't look like a sex toy. Unless that's the look you think she's going for?

Another vote for the itaste vv4, I have the 'rainbow' one. Its vv and vw and has a passthrough battery. I top mine with either an aerotank mini or genitank mini (I like adjustable airflow). The vv4 also allows a little bit of subohm so she can try all the available kanger coils, think they come in 0.8 - 1.8ohm.
I think this setup is pretty elegant, probably the only negative is thats its quite long.

I wouldn't exactly call any of the box mods "elegant". If you want a compact and elegant looking device, but powerful at the same time, I would say the eGo One. With the 1100 battery it is really small. I am not aware of you being able to adjust the volts/watts on it though. I believe it is preset based on whether you have a 1 ohm coil, or 0.5 ohm coil on it. The Provaris are really pretty tube mods, but pricey for what you get, but you do get to adjust the voltage. The Provari will be bigger than say an eGo One.

I'm new to the whole vaping scene, having only switched over 8 days ago, but very happy I made the transition.

I have a female colleague at work who is keen to try vaping, but is looking for a set-up more elegant than my iStick 20W / Nautilus Mini kit.

She is looking for a analog replacement system, not a cloud maker, and compact would be key.

Can any of you suggest a good beginners set up with variable volts / watts, that is very compact and elegant?

I feel like I want to suggest something very similar to my set up, as I'm so happy with it, but she is looking for a slightly more chic look.

She isn't price sensitive, and is looking for maximum convenience, in a compact package, with the best possible look (for a lady).

System names would be useful, but picture I could show her would be best.
