Vaping with Friends

Hey y'all. Been lurking for a while after my good buddy Jaytater told me about the place. Just finally got me a vape and started vaping after another good friend that I recently reconnected with said he was into it. I started off with borrowing his eGo battery after he bought a Twist and I topped it with an eVod. Today I received my Vision Spinner and a few days ago I drilled two of the air holes on the eVod to 1/16" and 5/32". Hits a loootttt better than it was. It was way too choked off, but was a quick hitter stock.

My buddy is vaping on a Twist with a Pro-Tank mini. The day he bought the twist he was using a Pro Tank 2. On the eGo battery it worked fine. Put it on the Twist and he had ZERO air flow. So he got an eVod and that worked fine until we put some rum and gummy bear juice in it. Big mistake. Ate through the tank within 30 minutes. OOPS!! So he got an iClear 30b and was TOLD it was glass and that was the only reason he bought it was because he was told it was glass. Well, put the gummy bear/rum in it and within 15 minutes it ate the inside of the tank to hades. So he brought it back and has a Pro Tank mini now.
I'm soon to be ordering myself an Aspire Nautilus after it being recommended to me by Jay.

Hello Chuckie! So are you and your friends smokers looking to quit? or are you just doing the vape thing? I wonder why the rum and gummy bear tore through his tanks like that. The rum is a flavor, right? an ejuice? mixed with another ejuice (gummy bear)? I ask because I have the gummy bear flavoring and am curious before I make a batch up.

Well, the day I got my first vape I was smoking a pack a day and had been for a while. Now, since then, I've smoked 4 cigs and half a black an mild. The cigs tasted HORRIBLE and it's kinda hard to not like a b&m lmao. Even the smell of tobacco bothers me.

I personally think it was just a perfect chemical reaction between the two flavors that caused the tank to melt like it did.
I'm smoking on gummy bear right now actually. I love it! I have it at 9mg nic and 30 pg to 70 vg. It's pretty nice. That the exact same as we have the gummy bear/rum mixed as well. He's got it in his pt mini and it's perfectly fine the only problem I've had so far is it'll "burn" really fast for me so I only fill my tank a quarter of the way. By burn I mean it gets super syrupy and turns really brown and then just tastes terrible.

Welcome to the group! I hang out at a local vape shop to discuss my vaping hobby but outside of that I never had friends who smoked, much less vaped, so I never had that close group to share experience with. Good on ya!

Finding a couple friends who vape has really pushed me into it a lot more. My other two friends rag on me cause I quit smoking but the way I look at it is this: I'm a mechanic. I can work on vapes and make them do cool crap. That's PERFECT. Cigarettes got boring after 7 years.

Welcome, and congrats on making the switch!! I really wish I had friends to hang out and vape with, but mine just don't get it yet. I'm working on it, until then I just hang out and share stories with the awesome people here.

Welcome, Chuckie, good to hear from ya! Nice you've got friends to vape with; like partyannimal, I do not have vaping friends, or smoking ones anymore either. I do miss the company of fellow smokers from the old days, but don't miss the smoking and its side effects at all!

I was building a juice at MT Baker the other day and happened to check the tank crackers list. Come to find out one of the juices I was using was considered a tank cracker. It seemed that Gummy Bear was on the list so I took a quick look and sure enough it is. Here is a link to the list

Well shooooootttt,,, gunna have to get our local shop to mark gummy bear as a cracker then. I smoked on it all yesterday and my tanks fine,, switched to strawberry banana for today though

I think it's hit or miss, regarding juices degrading plastic tanks.

I was vaping a Liqua brand menthol in my iClear 16's for a few months with some other juices mixed like Strawberry or Vanilla. Not a single issue with cracking or clouding of the plastic, even though menthols are known to cause damage. I went in knowing that though, and was delighted that I didn't experience a problem.

Most of my friends are interested in making the switch. I have done a lot of the homework for them, thanks to ECF and my own experience. I have a handful of "set me up with a rig" friends now. I 'was' the hardest analog smoker of them all, and now they are are begging me to help them put the stinkies down.

Though when I went to see them the other day, they all said how nice the Apple smelled and they all asked to try a drag or two. Just wish they'd all share the same mentality as me and ditch the analogs.
