I have a question for all of you master flavor artists ;)
Because of this thread I have ordered the following from VZ:
Chocolate, Strawberry, Raspberry, Peach. I also order a 50/50 24mg unflavored base. Here's the thing, I'm nervous lol. I love just basic flavors but I do want flavor. I would also like to add chocolate to the raspberry and the strawberry. I have been reading and reading. I would like to make 15ml bottles. I like a sweeter, very flavorful vape. I would be completely grateful to anyone who can tell me what percentage to start with on my first try. I love this thread by the way, I read it all the time. Thanks to everyone who contributes. You are so much help to newbies like me and we are grateful to all of you who put your time into these threads for us.

Start at 1 drop of flavor per 1 ml of your premixed pg/vg and nic

I am glad you like the thread feel free to add your opinions/experiences to it we would love to hear. As far as flavor combos since you are mixing about 50/50 I'd aim for a total flavoring of 3-4% and see how that goes. Start with one dominant flavor at 2% another at perhaps 1% and go from there. Certain flavors will be plenty at half a percent or they will dominate the mix. I have heard of people taking these up to 5% and beyond in a recipe but its not something I have done.

I have two all day vapes, desert ship-apple and B&M-Banana, since the change of B&M to Black Cigar I find the flavor is not the same... Anyone feels the same way or are my taste buds malfunctioning?

All they did was take off the old labels and put new labels on. I don't know how that would have changed the flavor.

Hi Shilo, thank you so much for your help. I made my first juice before you posted this. I did a 10ml bottle with 80% of the 50/50 and 20% of the flavor, it wasn't the Super concentrated flavor. It was good but not as much flavor as I liked. I also put about 5 drops of EM sweetener. Would you consider that too much flavor? I've heard people who do 70/liquid 30/flavor. I was going to try that next. I just ordered 6 more flavors and I got the super concentrated this time.

If you used the non super concentrated that sounds about right and may need a few days to meld and reach full flavor. I would wait at least 3 days before adding anymore flavor. With the super concentrated you will definately need far less than that---a starting point of 2.5% is recommended.

I wish I had read this before stocking up on TPA/TFA flavors. They are difficult for me to balance. Shilo's been keeping secrets!:p, thanks for the link Wolcen!:toast:

If you ever have your fill of those I would give these a try--the fruits are very good as I know your into fruits...lol These are the absolute easiest to get a nice vape.

I'm not having much luck with TPA/TFA, I get soap and perfume way too often. I also read through Cyrus Vap's thread...did VZ fix the flavor inconsistencies that came up in the SCs last year? I also wonder how these compare to Flavor West (gained in popularity since last year) and Capellas. To be honest, I got a bit discouraged trying DIY and quit ordering flavorings, other than ones that seem "safe" to try. I've stuck with fruit and mint flavors because they seem the least disappointing more often than not. Some of my favorite flavors are a bit more complex...Tidal Wave from MBV, Midnight frost from MVJ, etc, but I don't yet have the skill to create the complex flavors that I would want to vape. So, maybe I need to do more shopping at VZ, if these flavors are so reliable?

I recommend them highly especially the fruits and tobaccos. For bakery types try the Gourmet line. You will need a far lower percentage which that in itself is big plus. Some of the questionable flavors were eliminated from the lineup from what I have seen. You will not be disapointed in the flavor. With Koolada and menthol or peppermint and good fruits you could create a great vape---don't understimate yourself although I know it can be quite discouraging. Thats why so many of us recommend these flavorings for people starting out in DIY---they just work and work easily. I am going to investigate that Tidal Wave for you but in all lkelihood its FW flavors being used.

I use a lot of the VZ SC flavors and have never had any inconsistencies. And the Gormet line is great, but they are not going to restock, so once they're gone, they're gone. Better get 'em while the gettin's good.

I chatted with Leah yesterday and she said she was trying to get another order in so hopefully this is not the end.
