It's Winter, the heat is on, and our sinuses are irritated. At least for me, that's going on. Saline nasal spray helps to heal the sinuses and restore some sense of smell. Hydration from drinking lots of water also helps.

I like cartos because of the new and fresh taste from them when you open a new one. As dormouse said, cartos (and other kinds of atomizers) lose taste as they become contaminated with old juice. The coil gets insulated from burned on juice and that's why cartomizers are so good. You just toss them when the taste dies and go back to optimum taste with no cleaning or blowing out.

Cinnamon and clove tend to be very strong flavors that can tend to damage the taste buds I would try to stay off of those for awhile and see if that helps.

I still have this problem from time to time and I have been vaping for 20 months. If you are using all VG or high VG content juices it tends to mute flavors.
