Hey guys can someone please enlighten me on the difference between the dna 40 vs dna 40D? I just pulled the trigger late last night on the Vapor Shark dna 40 then of course today I noticed the VS rDNA 40 says it has "the DNA 40D under the hood". I guess all im trying to figure out is did I just purchase the older DNA chip from VS? Is there any benefits to getting the DNA 40D? Thanks in advance and Happy Easter!

Oh I see what you mean; I didn't see there was an additional "D" there the first time. I guess that probably indicates the new, larger screen? I'm not sure, since I don't see it mentioned in the list of features for the DNA, but in the picture it looks the same as the rDNA which does mention the new screen. You might have better luck asking them, directly. When you do find out, be sure to let us know! :)

im aware of the physical difference between the two mods im just trying to understand what the DNA 40D is about rather than the origanl DNA 40, thanks!

Could you be mistaking the DNA 30D? Looking at Evolv's website,

Evolv LLC - Shop Now

They don't list a DNA 40D. Just DNA 40, DNA 25, DNA 30D, and DNA 20D.

---------------

Vapor Shark rDNA (40W Version) + FREE 30ML E-Liquid

"Introducing the latest evolution of the Vapor Shark rDNA; now with the Evolv 40D board under the hood! In addition to the outstanding attributes of previous versions, this version introduces some new and radically different features, never before seen in an electronic cigarette. This rDNA is the most powerful, yet also the most efficient version ever released; providing up to 40 watts of power while actively conserving battery life. Incredibly, this device is able to seamlessly transition between using coils wrapped with traditional resistance wire (Kanthal, Nichrome) as well as Nickel wire. The use of Nickel wire allows this device to monitor and limit the temperature of the coil, meaning an end to charred wicks (when properly configured) and opening a new realm of possibilities for coil building. The term most frequently used to describe this new technology is "game-changing"; and to say that this device will do anything less than completely revolutionize the way we vape, would be an epic understatement. Ah...I think I know the difference. Doing a google search, it appears that the only difference between the DNA 40 and the DNA 40D is that the 40D allows you to toggle the temperature display between Fahrenheit and Celsius. If you go back to Phil Busardo's video on the DNA 40 chip (the video on the Vapor Shark website), the guy from Evolv did mention that the DNA 40 chip only showed the temperature in Fahrenheit and that they were working on adding enabling it to be displayed in Celsius also. Doing a google search on the DNA 40D, it does say that it can display the temperature in both.
