If the vapor is thick enough, you can feel it as a fullness in the lungs. Some prefer that fullness to throat hit, the feel of nicotine hitting the back of the throat. Also, I think having some vapor is good feedback that you did get a good drag. Psychologically I think it is part of the simulation of smoking - to blow out the vapor in the way you used to do with smoke.

Also VG has another function in vapor. Nicotine is a skin irritant. Medium to high nic in 100% PG can be pretty irritating. People have gotten sore tongue, mouth, throat and even irritated lungs. Having some VG in the mix usually buffers the irritation enough to get rid of the problem.

That said, I prefer more TH and thinner easy to use juices. TH and vapor are somewhat mutually exclusive. You can have thicker juice w/ more vapor and less TH or thinner juice w/ more TH and less vapor.

I find in standard stuffing cartos, I get the easiest use and best carto life with 20% or less VG, often 10% or less (and also by avoiding juices that drop sediment)

I don't find vapor to be extremely important, but I do need to see some of it or else I keep hitting until I nearly knock myself out trying to get a 'hit'. LOL Vapor does seem to be an important part of the experience, although throat hit is even more important to me. At work, however, I prefer to vape PG e-liquid so I don't have plumes of smoke billowing around me. It's how I keep it on the DL. :)

I tried to quit analogs with some cheap e-cig about a year ago and failed. The problem I had was it produced verry little vapor and throat hit. I just got a ego-t on Monday and not one analog since. It hit my throat and produced enough vapor with thin juice that I enjoy it more than I ever enjoyed analogs

Some, me included, like to see the vapor cloud. Heck, some of us even play around blowing smoke rings! (boyfriend) ;)

I don't "feel" like I'm smoking if I don't see something. This whole process is a mind game. Your mind is addicted to things, to trick it into believing the experience is the same each individual needs to pursue that which works best. Mine is seeing it, YMMV.

So seeing is believing holds true and maybe especially with Vaping...

The throat hit for me is a good feeling and feels like i'm smoking , vapor clouds are nice but without much throat is like walking outside in our Chicago winters and seeing my breath as i breath that cold fridgid air which is soon to come .

Potty Mouth! No speaking of the inevitable seasons is allowed, I try and trick my mind that I'm still living in Cali too!

I don't care much about visible vapor most of the time (as opposed to vapor itself, which is obviously essential whether visible or not). I vape all-PG, and I'm a greedy inhaler--usually no leakage of uninhaled vapor on the draw and usually little to no visible vapor by the time I exhale. Every once in a while, if I'm in the mood to see vapor, I'll add a bit of VG (which seems to hang out in the carto after several refills of all-PG). Sometimes I do enjoy vaping outside in damp weather and seeing what I exhale.

(Edit: In that sense, I guess my avatar is a bit of a fib.)

OK, maybe a lil' analogy is warranted here...

Ever had a car that got ya from point A to point B and met your purposes? Now, how 'bout a '67 Chevelle Super Sport that took ya beyond the mundane and let ya know via the throaty (I really like this vaping reference) resonance, that it would take ya to da 'edge' and put a s**t eating grin on your face?

Cumulus vapor is my vaping resonance! :vapor:

BTW, I owned two '67 SSs and still

for selling 'em!!!

I read a lot about vapor this or vapor that. Why is it so important?

I am not trying to duplicate the analog experience. I want the nicotene I guess, but more in a stealth mode...

I get ya. Tonight's movie night. My low-vapor 80% and 100% PG juices are ready for stealth vaping. The vapor isn't as important to me as taste and TH overall. I'd love to have a little adapter to turn off the vapor for certain occassions. But seeing a cloud of vapor against the sunshine streaming though a window makes me smile too. I'm silly stupid in love with all of it because I don't smoke anymore.

I smoked for 12+ years and quit almost cold turkey (took wellbutrin for 2 weks then got off it cause it meade me feel like a zombie). Then for some asinine reason I decided to have a swisher with a buddy. This started about a 8 month habit of smoking a pack of peach swishers (inhaling of course) then SNUS then finally and regretfully back to cigs. I have been trying to quit for the past year and purchased an ecig due to a trip to Chi town with the wife for our anniversary, so I could get nicotine on the ride up there. So its been 2+ weeks and I love it. The physical action of taking a drag, TH, release all of it. I dont think the patch or other methods would help because for me (and a good majority of smokers) the physical addiction is as strangling as the nicotine addiction.

I have looked and have not seen one yet, but what I would like to see is a short fat battery with a shorty cartomizer (about .8 - 1 ml) with a snubby mouth piece. Fit in the palm of your hand, roll it up in your fist if you want, and the battery would last 4 or so hours...

FYI: Excellent Stealth Vaping Technique:

disclaimer - I didn't discover this, I saw it posted somewhere here on ECF; but haven't been able to find the post to give credit to the original poster.

I've used this technique with 60/40 PG/VG and had very little vapor on exhale.

Take a pull off your ecig, as big as you want; but leave enough room to inhale air through your nose when you're done.

That's it. Not sure why this works. But if you inhale air through your nose before exhaling the vapor, there is little to no visible vapor exhaled. This doesn't work as well if you inhale air through your mouth before exhaling the vapor. And there is no need to hold the vapor for any extended period. Vape - breathe in through your nose - exhale.

ETA: Dang, finally found the post! From BigJohnJ - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarettes-public/160056-invisible-vaping.html#post2654912
