Hello again. I’m back with another review. This time I will be covering the vaporesso Barr pod system. It was sent to me by vaporesso in order to do a fair and honest review. I’ve had quite a bit of experience with different pod devices so feel like I can give a good opinion on this one. Let’s go ahead and take a look.

First Impressions:
When I opened the box on the Barr I thought it was an attractive looking small pod device but because of the size I honestly wasn’t expecting much. I received the black one for review. After all it’s only a 350mah battery. I filled one of the two included 1.2 ohm pods and waited a little while to try it while I topped off the charge on the battery. I decided to use a simple mint mix that I’ve grown to like but is clear. The pod itself is only a 1.2ml capacity but it’s about right for the battery capacity of this unit. Like other Vaporesso pods I’ve tried, it has the fill port on the side of the pod. One feature of the pod that I like is that you can open the plug to fill and rotate it out of the way so you don’t have to try to hold it while filling. Something I found very interesting about the pod is that you can change the airflow of the device by pulling the pod out and rotating it before inserting it to change the airflow. The pods have different sized slots on each of the four sides of the pod in order to allow different amounts of airflow. On the lowest airflow setting, it is still fairly airy so if you are looking for a super tight draw then this one probably isn’t for you. I could notice the difference the most between the least and most airflow setting. The difference from 1-2 and 2-3 were less noticeable to me personally but there is some difference. For me the lowest setting is a good MTL vape while the highest setting is much looser and I was even able to do a pretty restricted DTL. I probably wouldn’t use it for DTL but was able to do it while testing the device. The mouthpiece is flat on two sides which I found to be comfortable to use. One thing that took a little getting used to for me was that the way the pod sits in the device, the corner is straight up while vaping where I would have thought the flat would be up. It’s just a really different design compared to what I’m used to. The coil inside the pod is a 1.2 mesh coil and performs well in my opinion. You have to replace the entire pod. The coils are not replaceable by themselves.
Like I mentioned earlier, the battery is 350mah. However, the output rating is 13w which allows for a fairly strong performance and a generous amount of vapor for such a small device. This unit does not have a button to fire the device. It is auto draw only. To me that makes sense on a unit this small. There is an indicator light on the battery that illuminates when you draw. There aren’t different output settings like on some other devices. It is a fixed output. After a work day of intermittent use, I’m on my second fill of the pod and finally drained the battery. So basically I’ve gone through about 2ml and the battery was drained. I think that’s pretty decent performance so far for this battery size. One thing that I think many will like is that it is charged by using a USB-C connection and charges very fast. The indicator light does not change colors as the battery drains so there isn’t any warning when it’s low from what I can tell.
Final Thoughts:
I thought that the Barr pod device performed very well for what it is. Honestly it performed better than I expected. It isn’t a super tight draw like some might look for but I think that if it was that the vapor might be too warm with a 13w output. I like the fill port setup on the pod and personally prefer a somewhat airy vape on MTL so it was a good fit for me. I commend Vaporesso for trying to give an airflow adjustment on such a small and inexpensive device. I think it was rather clever of them to incorporate it into the design of the pods. Like I mentioned earlier, it isn’t a huge change between some of the adjustments but definitely can tell between the tightest and loosest. In my opinion, the Barr is a good pod device that is small enough to throw in a shirt pocket or purse and performs well enough for what I would consider an out and about device. It is fairly inexpensive and going for around $20. I like that it comes with two pods also. So, would I recommend it? I would if you’re looking for something that is easy to carry and still gives a decent amount of vapor and flavor. Thanks goes out to Vaporesso for sending the Barr for review and to my devoted readers.
