I believe the readily available boost chips are limited to 2.5 amps. The provari has the same limitation. They may have gone with a slightly cheaper chip in this one.

LOL Yea I know. Personally I don't like Dual coils, so it's a non-issue. I don't need a dual coil to produce a strong enough hit and enough vapor to blow my lungs out if I want to. I got that this VaporLuxe has a 2 amp limit from the info on the website.

The VaporLuxe is a nice unit. I vape heavily and run my VL all day long and charge overnight. I've don't recall that it has ever run down in a day's use.

Mine slipped out of my pocket and crashed to the floor when I was picking up some tools. At that point, the battery indicator lights would remain on all the time. I sent it to AoV for repair. The only charges were for a recplacement board ($19.95) and shipping. I'm expecting it back today or tomorrow.

I have not used a carto with less than 2.5 Ohms resistance on the VaporLuxe.

The dual coils cartomizers I have are rated 1.5 ohms, but from what I understand it is actually 2, 3 ohm coils. I have not tried them above the 4.2 volts minimum on the vaporlux.

Yes that is correct. Two 3 ohm coils in parallel gives you a 1.5ohm resistance total, but the circuit can't tell the difference between that and a regular 1.5ohm coil.

Actually, it would be interesting to see a "Voltage Under Load" meter attached while using one. Not all circuits will just stop and not fire at the current limit. For instance the ptn04050C, when ran above the current limit, will still fire, but it suffers a greater voltage drop, which keeps it inside its current limit.

I only tried the dual coil due to your post(Dalton), they are not my favorite. I'm currently using a Bulli A2 tank on my Vaporlux and it totally rocks. Even at only 2 amps, I can't imagine it getting much better...but then again, thats what I said when I first tried low res atties on my ego-t. Maybe my next mod will have more power, but for now, I'm really enjoying the Vaporluxe with the Bullie A2-T. I don't think my lungs could hold more vapor.

Well perhaps someone will see the post, who has a dual coil and a "Loaded Voltage" meter, who will give it a test.

I was going based on the sites specs, and math. I honestly didn't even think about overcurrent protection causing a voltage drop instead of just not firing until I was working on one of my boosted mods earlier.

Actually, 4.3v IS roughly 3.7v with an atomizer connected, because of the voltage drop due to load. Most 3.7v mods are actually operating at about 3.2v under load.

The Vaporluxe only has a 2Amp limit. No way that is gonna handle a dual coil, and especially not a triple.

I don't get it. I have a Provari and my buddy has a Vaporluxe. Using the ego dual coil 1.6 ohms:
Blank (empty) Dual Coil Blank Mega Cartomizers (5-Pack) for the Happy eGo e-cigarette.
The Provari shuts down (Er message) at 4.2v roughly, while the Vaporluxe vapes the DC at 5.1v! Why? If it has a 2 amp limit, and the Provari is said to have a 2.5-2.8 amp limit, this just doesn't make ANY sense to me.
And let me tell ya, the DC at 5v was like heaven.

Hi

I tottaly agree, if you what a vv mod the provari should be one of your top options...

Regards

I would agree, but as I said before, the Provari doesn't handle the Ego Dual Coils 1.6ohms I love (5ml juice...) at voltage higher than 4.2v-4.5v, while the Vaporluxe does it up to 5.1v. And it tastes great.
