On the edge of insanity..
Well then, I have something special for you, Red. Here's a pic I took of my 17 year old, back in '08, when we first moved here. It was in the middle of February, so the lake was still frozen over. I love watching the sun rise over the lake each morning!

Fine looking son you have there Nature. :) I sincerely hope that everything works out for the best. I cannot even begin to imagine what you must have gone through and are still going through. Absolute best of luck hun.

Thank you for the picture! That really make me miss home. I don't know what it is, but I will always call IL my home. I guess because I born there?

Sorry Cat. I know a couple people that are type 1 diabetics. Wishing your little lady the best.

She was diagnosed when she was 12. She's pretty much accustomed to it.

Nature, I hope for the best for you and your son. I hope a match is found very soon so he can go back to something closer to a regular teenager's routine.

Nice...sometimes I drink coffee at night...not often though.

I just recently got into coffee. Never liked it, but as I got into IPA's and IIPA's and more and more bitter beers, I'd developed a taste for coffee as well. So, I make a pot of decaf in the evening to give me something to sip on without consuming beer after beer every night as I was starting to do. Now, just one or two and then switch to the decaf. :)

I was referring to my kidneys being better than my liver. Sorry, was a bad joke.

My wife is a type 1 diabetic and is showing signs of kidney disease. I can sympathize as we're looking at a similar situation in the future for her.

Sorry, Cat. I misread that. It's been a long day. Please don't think I was being mean (I only get that way with KK . . . but he knows I'm joking).

I'm sorry to hear that about your wife, Cat. My mother is diabetic, and I know those struggles all too well. Please give her a huge hug from me.

Koby was born with the kidney disease, and has been in and out of hospitals all his life. We were managing the function of his original kidneys with medications, but they finally failed completely just before his 12th birthday.

My brother donated one of his kidneys in '06, and his body started rejecting it last year.

Sorry, Cat. I really didn't mean to go into all this detail when I initially responded to your "filtering" statement. Humor is a HUGE coping mechanism of mine, and I was just being silly. Forgive me?

Now let's get back to the snarky comments and sarcastic humor that make this thread sooooooo addicting! :D

Spacekitty do you have a really good sweetener that you use?

I don't use any sweeteners... can't stand the artificial taste most of them have, and I use VG which kinda has it's own sweetness to it... ;)

But there IS a custom flavoring from a certain DIY supplier called 'Sugar Cream' that is really nice for rounding things out, and a little goes a long way!!

I'm glad. I was worried you thought I was making light of your son's situation.

I've been drinking coffee since I was a kid. Started out with 'coffee milk' (more milk than coffee) at about 6 or 7, and slowly worked my way up to coffee w/a splash. I got into espresso about the same time I started drinking Stout. I discovered I really liked strong flavors. I started getting into hotter & hotter chilies at about the same time.

I pretty much limit myself to 2, maybe 3 beers max. And then only a couple of times a week. Mostly I'll drink Tab with, and after, dinner.

I end up drink decaffeinated AZ green tea before bedtime.
