Very nice response from VS. I'm too OCD on something like a finish for something new so I am okay missing out on the $160 deal, maybe that was an inventory clearing event knowing of the issue (some will never fool with sending it back). Regardless it will be good to see what does unfold by end of October once new ones are in hand, in jeans and had some tossing around done with them.
I believe that people that ordered the VS dna 200 during their Labor Day sale will be delayed in receiving their order until the issue is corrected.
Official response from VS ...

I also want to make you and the community aware that we are taking the proper measures to correct this issue. All of our current inventory has been shipped back to manufacturing and will receive brand new casings along with more detailed Quality Control. We want to ensure that all of our customers receive the absolute best device that is up to our high standards. Due to this manufacturing issue we will not receive devices for a period of 3 weeks. As soon as the devices arrive at our facility we will begin to fulfill orders in the manner which they were received.

Thank you so much for patience and understanding regarding this matter. We do apologize for the delay and inconvenience this issue has caused.

As always, if for some reason you need to alter your order or simply would like to request a refund contact us at support@vaporshark.com and assist you in a timely manner.

Best Regards,
Alexandria

This is pretty much the same thing that happened with the rDNA40 release. The rush of people that pre-ordered start whining and moaning about everything and how VS are crooks and blah blah blah. They have learned a few things but still not perfect by a long shot, I admit. However, they are trying whether some of you believe it or not. That e-mail sounds like it came from higher up that the 1st line of CS which are more or less in the dark about what's going on as we are from my experience. Patience goes a long way.

The last delay with the rDNA40 included the larger screen and zip charging. I got mine delivered before the last batch of small screens that were supposed to be buggy. It's been perfect for the last 10 months of daily use. When I first got it, I was told that glitches happened at 40w so I vaped a tank at 40w and got a huge nic buzz before someone told me I only had to fire it a few times at 40w for the glitch to happen. It never did. I was a bit disappointed about getting a small screen but it's fine and it's still one of my favorite mods to date.

I've only dealt with CS twice and both times were not anywhere near a release date and they were very quick and very helpful. IMO, they have the best mass produced mods available but arent' without flaws. The finish on the fire button of my rDNA40 is completely worn off. That's all I can complain about in 10 months of use. Not bad.

Does anyone find it strange the VS200 510 is lower in the body than previous versions?
If any juice leaks it's going straight inside the top.

I'm glad to see that they acknowledged the finish issue. I'm also glad to see that they are correcting the issue. I really hope that yal get a unit without paint issues. I'll still wait on the sidelines to read up on any future potential issues before ordering mine while enough my two dna200 mods that I already have.

I just got off the phone with customer service and cancelled my order. I do not like the way this entire preorder process has gone from advertising the 8/24 shipping dates to the delays (this was my first time dealing with Vapor Shark, so I did not have preconceived expectations until I have gone on this forum). Now reading an additional 3 weeks because of quality control issues, I'll hold off until all these issues are all fixed and I could be confident I will get what I pay for, or go elsewhere for the DNA 200 chip.

It looks like all the first batch DNA200 mods have issues. Anything you get from round two will be much better.

The shark has the finish and shipping issues
The Hcigar has the brass 510
The Hanna pinched screen cable and bad support
The Opus 510 is pressing on the lipo
The Vapecige 510 is press fitted and lipo jammed into tight space
I am sure the Lavabox first batch will have some issues too.

I was just going to post this. The only thing that seems to be working well is the chip itself. I think Evolv had the an amazing launch. But the mod vendors are messing it up.

As for us, if you want the latest and greatest, you just have to deal with the growing pains. It's a risk.

Are these VS cases coming from China? For some reason, I thought I was buying an American made device. I was hoping that was a bit of insurance that they got it right first time out. If they are getting them from overseas, then they really have taken themselves out of the process and are at the mercy of their manufacturer. So are we.

This is coming from someone that's very happy with their SX Mini M-class, but hates the poor finishing. When I bought the VS, I at least thought the finish was stable. Kinda stinks, but I'll live.

Still can't wait to get a DNA200 device in my hands.

Interesting, Mine should be here today.
I wonder like you if there was a reason for that.. Maybe some mods were too long. Or maybe simply stronger that way..

Yes, all the vaporsharks are made in China. They always have been.

I served my time as a guinea pig with the rDNA40 and SX Mini M class pre-orders and both had their warts. Now days everyone else can be the guinea pigs and I'll opt in once they get things right :)

Pre-ordering a mod is like pre-ordering a video game, it takes away the incentive to get it right the first time.

Nah..software is 100% digital, if you're pre-ordering something from a company with a reputation for solid support, you're near certain to see the product properly patched. With physical goods, there's only so much that can be done about 1st gen hiccups.

When mods were straight variable wattage and being slapped in similar shells, there wasn't much to worry about, but now that they're being microprocessor controlled, changing shells, changing power sources, etc. they've reached a complexity where its time to fall back on my standard approach that I've lived by since the early 90s on everything from PC parts, tools, up to vehicles, which is to give the product a little time to sufficiently mature.

The Vaporshark is near certain to be my next mod purchase, though I'll be paying attention to Cloudmaker over the next several months. I really like what those guys are doing, but they're in their infancy. If they live up to my hopes, they'll soon be one of the top dogs in the modding scene.

Received my Vaporshark.

All I can say is wow.. The dna200 chip lives up to the hype.. Still new but loving it.
As for the Vaporshark dna200, I was shocked at how light it feels, I almost wish it had some more weight to it to feel more solid. But it's a very solid device in hand just makes you think twice because of the weight lol..

The finish totally feels like my dna40, It does feel bigger in the hand, but I am find with that. My hobo 3.1 would over hang just a bit with my dna40 however, with the sharkskin it wasn't noticeable it fits fine on the dna200

I was out of my current country of residence until today so I just finally got my hands on the vs DNA200.

Pardon my over-enthusiastic response but this was worth the wait. I joined ECF in 2010 so I figure I've been at this for about 6 years. This is the experience I've been after since I started.

I was very satisfied with my rdna40 but the problem was I just couldn't get any dual coil setup to perform like a single nickel coil on my subtank mini. It would heat up too slowly or need some primer puffs to start producing decent clouds. This thing is different - frankly it's kicking my ....

A few problems I had to start off:
1. The coil I had on the 40 was giving harsh burnt hits even at 240F. I couldn't seem to dial in a cool vape until later in the day when it just wimped out and wouldn't give a warm vape even at 500. I think I burned out the coil. I must have attached it hot or something. Willing to blame myself for this considering the awesome vape I'm getting now.
2. Some of my tanks and rdas feel wobbly on top the 200. Maybe it's because of the more recessed 510 connector. I don't know... but it wobbles when shaken.
3. I had a mild panic attack when the fire button didn't glow red while charging. It turns out there's a battery% readout and charging indicator on the LCD now.

I can't believe I'm getting dizzy on 6mg liquid with temp limiting. I am a happy camper.
