Vaprlife has always used protected batteries. And in regards to the Joker LiPo4 batteries should work safely with no problems.
To be honest it's not the unit but rather the user. We thought it best to implement some type of safety feature into the Joker so that in the event a user with a death wish decides to mix batteries or use non recommended batteries the unit will shut itself off. (Just because you can doesn't mean you should) Although the wait in the short term is an inconvenience I think in the long run this is morally the right decision. I think it's our responsibility as suppliers to put forth the effort to create the safest possible vaping experience.
With that said, when the Joker is finally I released it will contain safety features not yet seen on a custom modification and a first step in the right direct to provide a safe environment when using custom modifications.
