Sorry I have not responded in awhile, I lived up to my promise and took a small break from here. The thing that really has bothered me with the whole E-cigarette thing, is a lack of consistency from person to person. This is an engineered device that is marketed as healthier alternative to smoking, yet there seems to be many variables. Even with the PG we all use that is being deemed safe by most senior members on this board.
"haha - i got my 510 and a bunch of juice about 3 weeks ago - i started out with the high strength nic juice and got a buzz right away - way too much -
that surprised me because i smoke bugler non filter - heavy tar - heavy nicotine and about 20 or 30 a day for more than 10 years - regular high filter analogs for 25 years before that - ( winston - camel etc )
so after 35 years of smoking high tar / nicotine cigs
the 36 mg juice was too much -"
See things like that make question marks go off in my head. Studies are saying e-cigs gives you 1/10th the nicotine of a cigarette. Some members are saying this is exactly the case, while others are talking about nicotine poisoning and side effects. How could one person be getting 1/10th the nicotine, while others like above are getting more nicotine from e-smoking then heavy unfiltered cigarettes.
Is it really the nicotine? Maybe the nicotine concentrations are never consistent? And everyone is talking about dryness. Is it really safe to dry out your lungs so much on a daily basis??
Plus u have the whole issue of withdrawal symptoms vs e-cig symptoms. which is which? What i do know is, a lot of people seem to be having SHORT term side effects that u do not get with smoking cigarettes. That is kind of alarming to me. Cigarette smoking never dried out my lungs or throat, or made my muscles hurt. Its a little bit troubling to me that there are many out there getting side effects in such a short period of time. Does anyone ever think or wonder what the long-term might be?
