variable watt it`s improper said. To have variable power on out you need to change or voltage or current or resistance. So with a simple VV you have a variable power on out. In rest it`s only marketing.
Now there are a systems with output regulated with constant watts instead of volts. It's easy enough to make and some users prefer stabilize watts even if they change an atomizer resistance.
Best for people who are scared of Ohm's law :)

yep i think must to stabilized U and I :).Anyway the results it the same. You must consider I it`s relative low at a batt.To make this it`s much harder like to do a mod box with some ebay modules:).

PS: give me a IC what can regulate watt, or a schematic with 1 or 2 circuit and I can make this. Until now I don`t find this.I know only of voltage regulators and current regulators and I presume it`s a combination of this

I've heard rumors of Evolv (Kick/Darwin) producing a modders board in the future. I'm eager for this to come to life, myself.

Yes, that rumor is true. They have contracted Dimension Engineering to produce them, so I assume that means they will be more readily available than their other products which they make in-house. No idea when they're coming out, though

I emailed Brandon at Evolv back in October re: modders boards, either with or without the LCD screen and he actually got back to me right away and said that they were up to their ears in pushing the kick to market...once that was done, their next project was to package modders gear (they realized the form factor of the Darwin wasn't everyone's cup of tea and they needed a way to recover the R&D spend they had racked up)...he did say I'd be considered for their beta test list...whether that's true or not remains to be seen, I should email him again...

man, that would be so great...especially with the lcd option.

No kidding eh!...but, the thing with complex LCD displays is they are typically connected via a silicon bus between the LCD board and the processor/driver on the PCB to facilitate what could be 50+ connections...very difficult to design into a mod (physical alignment is critical)...take apart an old VCR one day to see what I mean...the only way Evolv could sell a full on modders package complete with LCD would be in the form of a pre-built module...anything else would frustrate peeps so much they'd get ripped for selling crap...then size becomes an issue in the form of a module...I'd just be happy with the board with lots of I/O's for remote metering, switching and trimming.

simple traces on the board, that can be connected to a 2-3# digit display would be enough for me... no need to for a display similar to the darwin itself...

my theory is that the modders that will purchase the Kick(Modders version) will end up having something that roughly resembles the LavaTube. not necessarily with the same form factor.

# readout
+/- adjuster switch/wheel
menu button for display readout options (Watts/battery level/atty ohm/out voltage would be my holy grail)
activation button

if all these options could be connected to a readily available pin-out connector, i would be as happy as a kid @ disney world.

Wonder when the Evolv will get going on the modders boards?...you're already seeing "Kicks" being installed in box mods...or are they going to wait till Dimension Eng. (or someone else) says hey, there's a market here...if the Evolv boys are going to continue to drag their heels...

Evolve claimed that there would be enough Kicks to go around, but good luck finding a place that hasn't sold out... lol

i think it will be a while before they start worrying about the modders version.

either way, i got a mod just waiting for one... I just hope the size isn't much bigger than the current drop on kick.

reguardless, i see the modders version being just as good , if not better.

My Precise+ 18650, is putting the Kick through a hefty workout :2cool:

all we need now is someone to reverse-engineer The Kick so that we can have a more versatile equivalent.
But realistically, its going to be so cheap it wont be worth it. a single module that does it all... hard to beat!
