possibly closely linked to thread about best manufacturer, but still...

I have used 3 x KR808D-1 brands now; White Cloud, HG generic and now Vapor4Life.
(I also have a KR808D-2 Cigarti)

They all act different on the same cartomizers. Let's pick a V4L WOW carto as an eg.

V4L battery: lots of crackling noise, good vapor & flavour, good TH
White cloud battery: only crackles a little when battery freshly charged, more vapor smoooth draw but less TH & flavour.
HG generic battery: burnt taste after 2 puffs. (I've since thrown these batteries out)

That's a big difference in performance so I'm thinking there's a difference in battery strength or something. So maybe I've got to stick with one brand.

Anyone else found this?

This is why I want vendors to state their manufacturer. Because alot of them look exactly the same, but dont perform the same..I have batts from same vendor that dont act the same. Could be one is dodgy, but could be diff manu, but no info to customers...

ditto for me. I have two generic kr8 batts from same vendor that perform differently. one is really "hot" and comes off a charge with a high voltage and the other is more mellow, they even have different cutoff times, a fact to which the vendor didn't even know about. I don't buy from that vendor anymore and I recommend sticking with those vendors that do have a close relationship with their manufacturer (V4L is one such vendor). Quality control in China is a joke (and I am quoting a vendor who lives in China and works directly with a manufacturer).

I hear you.
Right now my 'generic' batteries are the best performing ones I have.
V2 and MaxxFusion are disappointing in comparison,
That will probably change with the next set of batteries I order,

I have to disagree... the bloog MF batt is a fine battery. It's got a faster trigger and is regulated. I am going to replace my standard batts with regulated ones. The thing you must understand is that being regulated means its producing a lower voltage off a fresh charge but the trade-off is consistency. The first hit is the same as the hundredth right up until just before the batt dies. You just need to switch to a lower resistance cartomizer to make up for this but the combination of a lower resistance carto (~2.6 ohm) and a regulated batt is a very satisfying and consistent vape. The LR cartos on an unregulated stronger batt may scorch though. The reason I say *may* scorch is because you have to keep in mind that cartos sold as e.g. 2.6 ohm can have a huge variance because most manufacturers don't test a big enough sampling. In one batch you might get one that runs at 2.9 and another thats 2.0 for example and you end up throwing out the 2.0 one because it scorches and tastes like crap. If you were to put one of those out of spec 2.0 ohm cartos on a strong kanger batt you'll probably run so hot that you'll scorch your juice and maybe burn some plastic or god knows what inside the carto.

That's why I'm going all regulated batts... I can't control the variance on the cartos unless I find a rock star of a manufacturer (not likely and would probably cost a lot more) so if I can control the voltage on the batt I will. Alas, the supply of regulated batts is still quite limited but the Bloog Maxx Fusion is one of them.

just my not so humble opinions... take em or leave em. ;-)

I agree - the regulated batts are the way to go. For example, if I put a bloog carto on a freshly charged V4L batt I get that "burnt" taste for a few minutes. The carto isn't burnt, and the taste totally goes away, but its not super pleasant. Bloog is estimating that they will have a complete restock around the middle of April. I have heard that nhaler's are the same, but right now are only sold in the pcc kit with plans of selling them separately at some point. Elite Vaporworks supposedly are also the same, and again just sold in a pcc kit. I just wish I had enough funds to buy all of them to try them out, lol.

Elite Vapor Works is now selling the batts & charger separately Signature Series 808 Kits and Accessories
Had to order one to try it out for myself.... these batts are regulated as well.

Ack... only the mini's!! you had me so excited too. :-\

That $20 PCC looks nice and the price is right. Mine's getting a bit aged... that looks like a standard 78mm length PCC but it doesn't say anywhere. I assume it's a standard connector that'll work with any kr8...?

I would assume that as well. Honestly it looks just like my V4L "standard" size PCC. You could PM Jayson to be sure, but thats what it looks like. I've found PCC's to charge any kr8, but may not act the same way with all of them. For example, my V4L will charge my bloog but the light doesn't turn green when its fully charged like it does with the V4L's.

Was it something I said?
bloog maxx fusion and nhaler's are both nice, fast trigger, regulated 808's. I got nhaler's with the mini-pcc, but didn't see that on the site last time I was there, only his new bigger pcc. I think he said he'd have more this month though. Overall, I'd probably still go with the bloog, the hand feel is awesome to me, love that slightly rubbery coating.

Interesting thought, but I've read several reports of 5v pt's burning some cartomizers and some juices. Unless either are redesigned for the higher voltage, or compatible products are marketed, I'm not sure the 4.5 volt would change much for the better. Especially if the 4.5 volt batteries were just regulated down to 3.7 anyway.

And it would prolly be hard to keep the thing short, unless your fine with charges lasting under an hour.. Hmm no I think im gonna skip that one...
Why is it, theres always somfin off?

4,5? why not just 4. Just tweak it a little bit.. the 3,7 is SO close to beeing enough, with the horiz cartos..
And that g400. Why not just make one with 650 or 700 mAh? So it could keep the short length. The egos have 650 and are short, but they have the button and are to fat.. Greencig could have made the ultimate contender with the g400.. but when its half a mile long itll just be a backup device for me.. like ego is...

A 6,5 to 7 cm batt, same thickness as g400, with 6-700 mAh, going at 3,8 or 9....... bliss.....oh well... a girl can dream, cant she... Its just like with the perfect man.
