"As for me, while those two adjectives most certainly apply here, I would have sooner described this thread as frustrating and disheartening."
Thank you, Viv....I'm glad you said it. Being a noob I have to be especially careful lest I offend anyone. Lord knows I can't get the information I need from the sellers websites so I have to try and find it here. It absolutely astonishes me how difficult it is to get a simple, straight answer to a simple question. Besides making it difficult for people who might want to try e-smoking my fear is that the difficulty in getting accuate, easily accesable information is simply going to be fuel for the anti-ecig campaigns out there. And unfortunately.....I can't blame them. One has to wonder why???? It's frighteningly similair to the analog industry. Has anyone ever tried to find out exactly what material our cartridges, specificly cartomizers, is made out of ? I have....and found abosulutely nothing. And not one supplier that frequents this board has responded to any of the threads regarding this issue and the safety issue of that material routinely burning....as in combustion.
I love my e-cigs. I was so happy when I found out about them. From the day I opened the first package with my e-cigs in it I have not touched an analog. Neither has my husband who is a truck driver and was a heavy "mad smoker". He admitted to bumming an analog off someone at work the other day because he had forgotten to charge his batteries....he said he took 2 hits and threw it away it tasted so bad. But reading and trying to participate in this forum has us having serious discussions about either giving up nicotine completely or in my case just switching to Nicorette inhalers or gum.
But I would still like an answer to my question about my batteries. :) This is the kind of information that should be right up front on any website that sells e-cigs.

Could someone please just tell me what kind of battery the kr808d-1 IS??? Ni-CD , LI-Ion....what IS it?
And if I have a KR808d-1 with a 380maH capacity how much current do I need to charge it? IE: I want to be able to charge several at one time and just want to know if I need to use AC current or can I just put several of them on my 2.0 USB PC ports with NO backup AC power to the USB hub?

Im sorry you are confused and frustrated about this and will take credit for the seemingly lame answers...
The Kr808D-1 Battery is a Lithium Ion cell...The 380 mah capacity is the Mega battery and the others are 280 mah...I am not aware of any multi-chargers currently available but I have charged multiple batteries using USB ports...The usb ports do seem to take a little longer to charge the batteries but I presume that would be subjective to the individual computer...
Also the ECF has recently opened an " Ask the Experts" subforum for these and other questions, that could of possibly been answered in a more technical and timely fashion...
As some may or may not know, those of us that are suppliers are bound by supplier agreements with the ECF as to where we can post about our products and services...
Therefore we must tread a narrow path with posting our product information in threads...This rule is in place to to protect ECF members from a constant stream of Spam from suppliers who might use general discusion threads to promote their products...
So sometimes asking specific questions outside of Suppliers SubForums or in New Members forums prohibits suppliers from answering those questions...
I hope this helps...
Drew

Yes...that helped tremendously!!! I was not aware of the strick constraints you suppliers must follow on this forum however they do make sense as you have explained them. I did try the Ask the Expert section and did not recieve the results I was hoping for. This mode of communication (ie:email,Internet, any form of written exchange) is very slow and usually inaccurate and not particularly conducive to technical conversations. The Ask the Experts section is also not set up for open dialoge so it makes it difficult if you do not understand the answer you have recieved. I believe what I need is to get my hands on a live geek! Unfortunately living in a small agricultural town makes that difficult. I do however know how to milk a goat. :)
Thanks Drew!!!

I do however know how to milk a goat. :)

...and in time, you will know how to milk this forum for any answer you need.

Believe me, I've only been reading and posting questions for 2 weeks, and I have either read or received back a satisfactory answer to every one of the questions I have had.

The way it sounds, any carts and batteries that will work on a genuine KR808D-1 will work on the LeCig D1? I just got the LeCig in the mail today and am looking for other sources for the carts and longer lasting batteries.

Yep, my LeCig D1 battery works fine with the Nhaler kr8 blank cartz.

The Kr808D-1 is made by Kanger and is known by many names...Kr8(Kreight), VaporKing,Nebula,V9,DP1,and More

GreenCig is NOT compatible with Greensmoke but is compatible with most auto KR808D-1 batteries and will work on the Manual batts with an adapter

The E-9 [...] has been sold by Loongtotem as the V9, and sold by many other names like SMoke51,DpV9,Greensmoke,Kr808D-2,E-Puffer

NOW these two mentioned are not compatible...However Kanger who recently started manufacturing batteries that are compatible with with the E-9s but are not compatible with the KR808D-1 Batteries, chargers and cartomizers...Hope this helps...
Drew

From what I'm seeing, the DPV9 actually is/is compatible with KR808D-1... e.g. lots of ppl mentioned using East Mall DPV9 blanks with theirs, and I saw it listed for carto compatibility at some vendor sites including LeCig. (Was quite nervous for a spell there; have a mess o 'DPV9' blanks on the way! 8-o ;))

...or maybe it's me somehow and just very late (early??)! :p

So your suggestion (earlier) amounts to getting blank carts from leCig and they DO have the rubber cap? Using KR808D-1 and filling with my own personal favs. They seem to be good carts? How are the prefilled ones? And...I must purchase the D-2 in order to use the greencig carts from LeCig?

Thanks!

The Lecig D1 cartz will fit your kr8 just fine! The greencig cartomizers work much better in my D2 than my kr8. The draw is really hard on a kr8 so it would be best to have a D2 (e9) battery for those.

Lecig doesnt carry the soft caps as far as I know. I just ordered some empties yesterday so I will find out when they get here. It would be great if Mike could as I dont like to buy preflavored cartz. I am not crazy for any of the prefilled flavors and i cant seem to get all of the flavor out so I just buy the empty ones.

I bought my cartomizers with the soft rubber cap from Nhaler but Drew says they are out. However, V4L carries a few cartomizers that have the soft cap in these flavors: (Premium only) Strawberry, Green Apple, Watermelon, Peach, Milk Chocolate, Vanilla, and Smilin Special.

Sorry for the delay in reply but I have midterms this week and trying not to spend time in the forums.

I took your advice on LeCig and was not disappointed. CS is very good and persons at this location took some time and explained things. They do have the rubber end BLANK carts now, and like yourself, I prefer to fill with my own juice. Not actually received mine yet, but they promised to hold off shipping until they arrived. Shipped yesterday. May want to check....

I used an out of date promo code and mentioned it in my order comments section. I'm getting the battery for the GC and a free cart to try out. More than makes up for the bad code.

As for V4L? The old saying goes "if you can't say something good about it, don't say nuthin at all" Been there, done that.

Thanks for your experience and great advice!

Wow, that was a fun thread to read through.

I am still a little unclear on a couple of things.

Snarkyone said the new non kanger batts have slots so they will take greencigs.

Then roxics posted a pic of 2 styles of batt , the old one with slots. So the one lecig sells has slots like the on on the left and no cutoff?

Then cielo posted a pic of a battery that was a bit longer than the original one. Did you get that from lecig or nhaler? If from lecig, is it still short enough to fit in the kr8 PCC?

So, I am asking.
If the lecig batt has slots does that go for the manual as well?
It has no cutoff?
Will fit in a pcc?

Thanks for any info.
