If you look at the picture of the bottom button it doesn't have a plastic piece to keep the battery from touching until the button is pressed
That mech looks scary to me. I would hold out and get a better mech mod personally. Get a mini by itself and shop around for a better quality mechanical. I still have a Reo Grand, pricey but the thing is an absolute tank. The builder also gives phenomenal customer service.

There is no plastic on the SMPL button assembly. The outer edge of the switch assembly presses against the plastic wrap on the battery to hold it tight without completing the circuit until the button is pressed. There is also a top ridge inside the tube to prevent the battery from touching the top cap and shorting when there is no atomizer attached.
That SMPL clone is a 1:1 of the original and it works very well. Nothing scary about it. If you had one in your hands you could see how easy and simple (hence the name SMPL) it is to use. But that of course is my opinion.
Sorry, I see now, other pics on the link show a bit better. I am not familiar with it really, also not much into mechanicals anymore either. Authentic is $119? Yeah nice price for a 1:1 clone if quality is ok. So the mod and atty both for $20? The atty clone alone is almost that much. I never used one without a top cap either, which makes me nervous personally. Just have to be careful with what you put on it I guess? Anyway I will hush up now on that one [emoji55]

I just ordered two FT minis .. one for me, and one for a friend for X-mass. I also ordered two SMPL V2 clones .. I just have to wait 2 weeks for shipping 
I'm running a simple 26 gauge dual setup at 3mm,7 spaced wraps.Comes in at .5,and it is fantastic at 50 watts.
I just received my mini tobeco velocity. I actually ordered full size from our friends at Eciggity, but they emailed me that they were out and asked if I wanted to switch my order to the mini. I'm glad it worked out that way. I really like it ! Super easy to build and wick. Plenty of room for large coils, lots-o-cotton too. A funny thing (wasn't funny at the time) happened. When I was trying to adj the airflow, I couldn't unscrew it to open. Actually got out the pliers and was really struggling. The mouth piece started unscrewing and all of a sudden, I could unscrew the airflow. Then it hit me.... I remembered watching a u-tube vid and the guy was explaining that you have to unscrew the mouth piece to get the airflow to work. HAHA !!! Totally enjoying this RDA !!!! I'm using it on my SX Mini. It's a very good combo. Looks like they were made for each other.
The mini is way better quality than the full sized, but maybe they improved it by now. I am running 316L SS in mine, contact coils and loving it.
That is one of the setups i was going to try, glad its working well. Just waiting for credit back from a vendor, think I will order myself a mini as well.

I haven't done much experimenting with it,there may be an even better setup for it,but that has been working so good,that i'm not in a hurry to try anything else on it.And yeah,i hear ya about the whole wallet issue haha,every time i look in the rda section here,i find something else i want,then occasionally i'll grab a new mod too,so i don't have to keep swapping rda's haha.
I ordered my mini from eciggity on Friday and received it today! My 1st order from them and I'm impressed.
